  1. I've found that people you've just met have a nasty tendency of automatically assuming you're friends for life just because they've pm-ed you a question and you were nice enough to add them back to answer it (but deleted them right after) One of a myriad of reasons to keep private chat on private.
  2. I'd have to say definitely buyable, as many people can camp with prayer or guthans at bandits or orcs and get massive xp for little to no effort.
  3. This is fine, no ones complaining about that, but when people post mediocrity so they can simply be flamed and claim moral high ground then things start getting annoying. I could post getting level 2 in a skill if I'm proud of it, do I expect 10 out of 10? Of course not.
  4. No, I'm just stating the truth. There are over half a million people better than you. So it's not very worthy of showing. It would mean we'd have 700k+ topics here if everyone decided to post these levels. I mean, sure, be happy with your levels. Nothing wrong with that. But if you're posting it in rate this!, then I'm giving you an honest response, and not a sugar coated one. +1 This isn't a constructive criticism forum, its a rate this forum. I'm sure you already knew you were going to be flamed and do this just to be able to retaliate... Its a start, but you really want to work on your skills.
  5. Can't we just agree to have three catagories of RS players? Members, F2pers, and Idiots-who-ruin-the-game-for-everyone'ers Like someone said, this is the internet where a large majority of people exist solely to troll others.
  6. Runecrafting is definitely the most impressive on f2p but its also the least useful, so I'll have to default to mining since at least you get to have fun with rune =)
  7. 10/10 just for the fact that you didn't power it completely (almost none actually D=) Very nice, go for 99 ;)
  8. People seem to put a lot of faith into the stories of these "hacked" players. Honestly speaking if my friend scammed me in RS, I wouldn't admit it to anyone, I would as well go: "OH I WAS HACKED WTF NO ONE IS SAFE!!shift111" The truth isn't always what we seem to think it is. IMHO, if someones gonna run keylogs at least run it for something like credit cards or bank information. RS information? Please, use your common sense...
  9. Perhaps with the introduction of a new spell book that requires large volumes of soul runes? I don't think its likely but it could be a possibility...
  10. I agree. 92-99 combat really isn't *That* much of a difference. Truth, this is the case for almost every stat not even melee. Almost every skill caps out in true usefulness at 85 (or lower) so perhaps making it more worth our time to go beyond that?
  11. I love this idea if it was applied to all skills, so everyone would get a special tool to use upon reaching max level. Alternatively, Jagex could introduce weapons that are more powerful but not trade-able, so you have to be able to earn it to use it. IE introducing the new weapons/armor in a fire cape like method.
  12. Your letter is spot on. I like most am quite pissed how this is being blown out of proportion. The kid cheated, and karma came back and bit him, tough luck. Somehow I doubt this'll get through though...
  13. Every person that's responded has a valid point, but only about half of you actually understood fully what I was getting at =S I don't think I was clear enough... With granite mining there are 3 good spots to mine that are nearly equivalent, spot stealers usually ignore this fact and go for the ONE SPOT that's already taken instead of being courteous and going for one of the other two near equivalent spots. So its not a matter of fighting for limited resources in this case, as it is in a lot of other cases where I wouldn't consider it spot stealing but competition, ie as in rune mining. EDIT: Just an FYI for a few people, there are currently 169 worlds available, 3 spots each, so 507 granite mining spots available at any given time. I'd be surprised if even 20% of those are being used at the same time at any given moment, even the most peak times on RS.
  14. 10/10! Great work so far, your stats are very similar to what I once had on f2p =D
  15. Yeah, when mining rune I will mine the rock whether someone is there or not. With something like Rune, where there is only two rocks in the wilderness, it really is all down to competition. If someone starts mining the rune rocks which I'm mining, I really don't mind. If I was mining granite though, it would be a different matter for me. At the granite mines there are a lot of rocks and also a lot of different worlds, so I don't really see a need to spot steal there. I understand that there is 'the best spot', but I can't see it making that much of a difference overall. :P Lots of good responses, this was pretty much what i was going for tho: there's usually empty spots through out the quarry so these players must be getting off on just plain pissing other people off, which is frankly rude. I usually defend my spot to the death as well, I'm willing to take the xp loss, unless I'm really getting creamed and then I have to leave eventually. :wall: Mining granite in general is a very friendly activity, as 99% of the miners i meet are very friendly and interactive.
  16. As anyone who's mined in the granite mine knows, some spots are more hotly contested for, but most miners follow the unwritten code of not stealing spots and switching worlds if the one you want is taken. With a mining level of 90 (and an additional +7 thanks to summoning familiar) I can usually trump most miners if i would choose to, but out of respect for my fellow Runescape players I never do. Now every once in a while you get a real piece of work who insists of spot stealing and my question is why? Call me foolish and naive, but I'm sorry if a little common courtesy is too much for you online, I'd hate to know what you are like in real life. Now before you flame me for this being a rant (which I suppose it can qualify as) my question to you is: do you, or would you spot steal? and if so what motivates you to do so, when it only takes 45 seconds to switch worlds.
  17. nachalo As nice as this would be, not sure if someone's mentioned it yet, but the current cash cap limit would make a lot of this impossible since there are many players who have way beyond the cash cap value in items. As well, what would you have the most expensive runescape item be then? The extremely undervalued spirit shields that fetch 1b street price even though they're worth 100m on the G/E? Thousands upon thousands of players have 100m so it doesn't make sense for a mere 100m to be able to be the best possible you could go for. (Not that many people would be able to get them anyway since there's so few of em around - unlike rares which abound) Sum it up: good intention, but not feasible.
  18. Notice the 93 RC? 9/10 just for the RC alone, looking very good!
  19. i got bowstring and crossbow string drops from the rangers along with green charms, not sure on level tho
  20. Great piece and thank you for reminding us how much we really have received from Jagex this year \ Lets hope we get another great year in 2009!
  21. A lot more people go through this exact same thing than you can probably imagine... The end result is dependent on your own self control with the situation... This is kinda off topic tho. OT// I think its reasonable to assume most people would give away their account for upwards of 5 grand unless they're incredibly loaded already...
  22. There isn't much keeping you here is there... IRL money is so easy to make, 200 bucks really is nothing, RS takes up so much time though. Assuming one plays 5 hours a day (far under what committed players play) you could make 50 bucks a day on minimum wage in that same time. And how many days have most people put in? I dare say they'd rather not know... TIME > ALL I wouldn't take less than 10 grand irl, but as no one would EVER pay that much for my account (let alone any account) I consider my account for the sake of argument as "priceless" (to me  )
  23. Neat idea but Mining definitely doesn't take only 200 hours, 300 is probably a minimum. Plus you have to remember some of these skills not only take this cost in "time" but also near to doubles when you include how much you're actually spending with real cash.
