I haven't seen this band mentioned much around here, but i'm a big fan and they're rapidly becoming one of my favourite bands.

 

 

 

Went to see them last night at the O2 Wireless Festival, and oh my god, they were good, unbelievably good live so raw and powerful it was amazing. I was pretty close to the stage and we were all pretty knackered from the Queens of the Stone Age, but people were still going crazy for most of their stuff. In the Seven Nation Army chorus everyone was jumping up and down in time it was amazing.

 

 

 

But anyway, enough of that, their new album is out on Monday: Icky Thump and from what i've heard of it so far it's awesome.

I missed out on the O2 festival. I had planned to go but then my parents pulled my permission. My mates had a great time too :( Anyway I love the White Stripes, especially The Hardest Button to Button and Seven Nation Army. Awesome band.

They are the only two songs I like too. Haven't really heard anything else from them

I usually go off any band that Radio 1 plugs for a month. A solid month. But not so much the Stripes.

 

 

 

Get behind me Satan and My Doorbell are two of my faves.

They are a very good band, they create very good songs (Seven Natio Army, Get Behind me Satan), but can also take excisting songs to a whole new level (see Hardest button and Jolene).

 

It's amazing what they can bring with being only a 2 man (and woman) band.

i like jolene and we are going to be friends.

I've been into the Whites Stripes for a while now. Jack White is an amazing guitarist and his style of playing is so non-mainstream that it's sweet. The way he adds the blues style into some of his riffs is my favorite. :thumbsup:

 

 

 

I got their self-titled album, Elephant, and Get Behind Me Satan.

 

Listened to Icky Thump. Didn't like it very much. I will probably still get the cd though.

pretty big fan of the White Stripes and the Raconteurs, I feel like Jack White can do no wrong.

I'm a huge hip hop fan and usually I don't listen to rock that much but when I heard Icky Thump on MTV I was like woah woah woah -loads up the internet*cough**cough*- :D

Had the album at work yesterday, but forgot to play it. Gave it a spin today, and it sounded pretty damn cool again. Need to listen to it at home to get a decent word about it though. But first impression was good. :)

Got it a few days ago, and I love it. Its not like any of their old stuff but its still very very good. It has a lot of Spanish influence in the sound and many lovely blues riffs you'd come to exepect from Jack. I told one of my friends yesterday I could see them going into the hall of fame some day. :thumbsup:

Love the Icky Thump track, has some weird guitar progressions in it, but definitely like it. Will most likely buy the album.

Their songs have a nice beat, but I can't stand the lyrics.
