scn64
After just watching Donnie Darko i got to thinking. Every single little decision you make could or could not lead to your death. Because the world is a series of chain reactions where everybody is reacting to everything, you deciding to blow a bubble with your gum could lead to nuclear war. Think about it....you blow a bubble with your gum, it pops in someones ear who gets so frustrated that he has gum in his ear that he punches you. You guys get into a fight(the other guy is black and you are white), people around you think it is a race thing and you end up with a large fight....eventually a gunshot goes off, a white person has shot a lightly colored "black person involved in the fight". It then occur on the news days later that the dead person is actually a Russian spy and the U.S reacts by sending troops to their new"missile defense system" on the Russian boarder. The Russians then take a drastic step and fire a nuclear missile at the u.s. It is now a nuclear war and World War 3 because of you. That may be a overzealous example but whatever. A simpler one, you trip when walking to class, a mean person sees that and laughs very loud and realizes that it would be funny to see the strange foreign exchange student fall down the stairs. After he pushes him down, the kid breaks his arm in 5 places and it will never function correctly again. Because he is always bullied he comes in after a brief hospital period and shoots the mean kid in the stomach with a 9mm. What do you think(also thank you to whoever read this entire thing, it was just kind of the thoughts of my last 2 hours and i thought it would make for an interesting discussion)
WokNGo
I didn't know Russians looked like Black people .. But I think about those kind of things all the time.

the_drunk_dude
Lol, if you've ever seen Final Destination then you'll fear death even more. Yeah everything we do has consequences, so? Would you really do anything different after watching/reading this? Maybe for a few minutes, a few hours, a few days, but you'll eventually forget. Take it one step at a time, and try to avoid the [bleep]es.
MPM
its called the butterfly effect, even the smallest decision can lead to a disaster Yep. I hated the movie Butterfly effect because id didn't follow with the idea very well. You know that if you stabbed your hands in kindergarden, you would have had a lot of different things happening to you... A better/easier way to explain how decisions affect things, imagine the interstate. If you slow down 5mph at one point, someone will catch up to you at a point where they were not going to before. You can just pull back information untill anything happens. ~M

Bubsa
After just watching Donnie Darko i got to thinking. Didn't have to read the rest of the thread, tbh. Yes, of course every decision you make is a life changing decision. It's your life. You decide what to do with it. You make masses of decisions like this every day, so my advice is, stop hyper-analysing and don't worry. It's life. This is how much you all raised for charity. Thank you. Wisp
maybe clicking one of those ads above this will give you a virus, which might delete a important school file, you fail that subject, drop out of school, get angry, rob a wine store for money, get caught, kill a policeman in the process and spend life in jail. Or not. Things can lead to another, but the chances of it all lining up just right for anything to happen that will really cause any effect is about almost 0. Even if somehow by accident of nature, he or she would not be a spy. A black person with a Russian accent is far from inconspicuous. the russians are the best! Hands down! warri0r45
You could probably extrapolate any scenario to a possible death or armageddon. Does it happen that often? Well, the former dosen't and the latter never has. Thinking about what could happen or how a trivial descision changed your life is a waste of time. Sort of slightly interesting to think about, but, a waste of time.

Celeste
Well, if no one else finds it interesting, I do <3. I remember when I used to watch "so weird".. or whatever that disney show was called... It showed what her day woulda been like if she did something simple and spilt orange juice... Or if she wouldn't have spilt the orange juice... Her day was COMPLETELY different in the two cases.... It's amazing that small simple things can change our life... But hey, thats the fun in life...doing things not knowing what the out come is going to be like...
