Elferin Posted September 25, 2007 Author Share Posted September 25, 2007 yes, the unthinkable has happened again. I was playing rs this morning, trying to burn some more fires, until my laptop died. A few of my close friends know that I've had trouble with my laptop lately because it won't charge. That was about noon here. At approx 8pm I went to the old family desktop to try to log in. I couldn't. I thought it was some sick joke. When I couldn't log in a second time, I began to freak out. Apparently about 6 or 7 months ago a friend hacked me (first time I got hacked by him) and took my stuff, as he was pming somebody about buying an account. The guy reported him (me) and I'm just banned today. I'm not sure why Jagex decided to ban me tonight and they did. Anyways, from now on (unless I get unbanned) I will be working on X Elferin X. Just seems like it happens a lot to you. 101 Account Security 1) Never tell anyone your password, in game or in real life, don't have it written down, unless where you have it stored is somewhere only you can access 2) Never have the same password on other sites or use passwords from other sites on your RS Account 3) Keep up-to-date Antivirus and Anti Spyware. Update definitions regularly. 4) Change your pass often, include numbers and letters to make it hard to guess 5) Set a Bank Pin, something only you will remember 6) When logging out of the game, bank all your possessions so that your character is carrying nothing. If you do all of the above, there shouldn't really be hacking possible. I don't know what else to say Elf, but bad luck, sorry to hear about it all.
