Primeaction
Plz Plz Plz Tip.it update ur price list. I use that pricelist for my prices when I sell and buy. It is clearly outdated from ur treasure trail items to your arrows. I keep getting called a noob when I use your buying prices. :( This is also good for people who left rs and the forums for a while and came back. They could check ur price list and see the real prices. They can see which ones changed and what they are now. It would be very helpful to any1. If you tell me to post a price check, I have and no1 replys to you check. all there is are a bunch of price checks in there!! tripsis
Updating the price list is a lot of work. I'll consider looking into it if I'm ever scrambling for something to do (maybe even later today), but you have to keep in mind that price lists are never 100% accurate, even if updated often. The best way to get a price on an item is simply to check out the RuneScape Official Forums and see what people are selling for. It doesn't take too long, but your price is almost always guaranteed to be accurate. - 99 fletching | 99 thieving | 99 construction | 99 herblore | 99 smithing | 99 woodcutting - - 99 runecrafting - 99 prayer - 125 combat - 95 farming - - Blog - DeviantART - Book Reviews & Blog

Striker6
Runescape prices fluctuate so much actually maintaining a price list is alot of work I am guessing.
-Devoted12-
The Price List would be hard to maintain if it were to be updated. The economy of RuneScape is constantly changing. No matter how often you update the list, the prices will never really be accurate. This is because the prices of RuneScape items are always changing. You would need a huge team of workers to keep the list updated. Updating the Price List would be a 24 hour job, 7 days a week. That takes a lot of man power to handle a task such as that! So, I don't think updating the list is an option. Because of my disagreement, I propose an idea which may work more efficently. (the easiest option is to simply check the RuneScape forums, but if we want something on these forums, try this suggestion!) Why can't we just give the Price Check sticky more taffic? I notice while browsing through the Price Check sticky that there is a lot of people requesting prices and barely anyone answering. Why can't we add this sticky into the Help and Advice forum also. If anyone has a price check, they could post it there. By doing so, I think it could recieve more publicity than it did before. This may create more answers. This way, it requires no work on any of the staffs part. The only concern I have about this is how many people that will actually answer the requests of the users who post a price check. If all else fails, just check the RuneScape forums like stated. I think that is the easiest option in the first place. You don't have to wait for a response that may not even come! On the other hand, you are sure to get a pretty accurate price by just browsing the RuneScape forums for a minute or two! :)

tripsis
Price List Overview - Updated!!!! Naturally, I may have missed a thing or two, so feel free to PM me if you catch any errors. Remember, your best source for an accurate price is and will always be the RuneScape Official Forums. Since that took me like 4 hours, I'm sure it'll be at least a couple weeks before I attempt it again :-$ - 99 fletching | 99 thieving | 99 construction | 99 herblore | 99 smithing | 99 woodcutting - - 99 runecrafting - 99 prayer - 125 combat - 95 farming - - Blog - DeviantART - Book Reviews & Blog
Ginger_Warrior
If we can't even keep a sticky updated with the correct info, how on Earth would we be able to keep a whole database updated with the correct info, especially when there's only a dozen or so crewbies, who all have tasks of their own to get on with? So, unfortunetely, it doesn't look like Tip.It will be hosting a price guide in the near future. Other fansites already do it, such as Zybez, so to do a guide would be to just copy them, and we pride ourselves on not copying other fansites, and providing our own knowledge and research. Also, looking on the RSOF will give you a rough price guide in about 30secs. So, all in all, I reject the idea of a price guide. Sorry. :( As for the Price List on the Forum, I have no control over that, nor do I particularly use it. As I said though, looking on the RSOF (you don't even need to be a member to do this) would give you an accurate price in seconds, so perhaps the Price List on here shouldn't really be your first place to go anyway. | Favourite Game Music | Last.fm | HYT Friend Chat Rules |
mastermule52
What about using some sort of metasubmission technique? Example: Players submit different prices, and the posted price is based on the plot of those numbers, with a small twist. Users are required to sign in the post prices, and prices that are either manually or automatically flagged as way off base (like saying a blue beret costs 420-435M) will count against the user, meaning their votes will be worth less toward the posted result than someone who consistently submits good prices. Another option is ... <_< >_> allow item researchers to change the prices <_< >_> *hides* *scurries away* The refuge that you built to flee that places that you've come to fear the most ... is the place that you have come to fear the most.Operator - http://www.heartunit.orgCouncil - http://z8.invisionfree.com/skillazModerator - http://forum.meebo.com
InkofDeath
A better idea would be to designate certain times to spend on updating it. Perhaps, spend 2 hours every third day on updating it. Only two hours, and only every third day, and different admins/mods updating it. To find the price of that item, RSOF. You don't need to spend every day updating it. If someone glances at the sticky, then posts to change it, and possibly if mods are more inclined to looking at the price guide, perhaps it would be changed and updated. Make time slots, put mods in those time slots(of course I mean taking away their free will), for one hour to however long needed...every third day. ^^
