We have to remember, you don't have the same chance to get a 3rd age item as a god page! Lets just say that 1 in 1000 clues have a 3rd age item from them. I'm willing to bet that 500 of those clues also had a black d'hide body/chaps. My view is that each item has a % of chance that it will be in your clue. But, they are RANDOM. That is why you could just get 11 sweets and 2 mage longbows, or a 3rd age kiteshield with a guilded helm to boot!

Hmm, my guess would be that the possible rewards would be stored in a table with fields similar to:

ItemNo, frequency.

The 'percentage' chance to get an item is given by (frequency/total frequency) *100

I've always thought that more steps means more rewards. Each step gives one reward, whether its a handful of law runes, a rune full helm, or a robin hood hat. I find that when I do a six step clue I get 6 of these rewards (for example, 2 rune fulls, 34 laws, 37 nats, a magic short bow and a guthix page), and when I do a four step clue I get only four (for example rune: rune plate, rune baxe, 36 bloods and 20 purple sweets).

This doesn't mean to say that the rewards for each step is decided after that step is completed, but it is recorded how many steps you've done for the clue when you get your final rewards.

Yet another myth(see my previous post)

it just works with wheels that stop like this:

wheels that say the reward, there are like 150 kinds of rewards possible:normal items:bronze axes till purple sweets, just anything and the tt rewards maybe 80-100 kinds...

the wheels stop at the point you complete the clue..

wheel number 1: gilded legs

wheel number 2: rune pl8

wheel number 3: 23sweets

wheel number 4: 56mind runes

maybe there is also a wheel for how maney rewards(wheels) you get, i think 3 to 6

The 'amount of steps is amount of reward' is correct i think...

Some people dont think so because they got 5 things from 6 steps..

But remember, 3k coins can also be from 2 steps (goes with any stackable)..

ya I've heard that everyone that gets the clue that tells you to go under agil dungeon at yannile got a robin including me <3:

Not true, got it several times myself, instead of getting robins I'm drowning in mage bows, rune-items and blk dhide armour :|

Dragon drops: 22 legs, 12 skirts, 1 med, 1 spear

Magic 99 achieved 8.8.07

I can confirm from my own experience that more steps = better stuff. I was doing a lvl 3 clue, went to the first co-ordinates, dug (wildy ones) and tele'd to edgeville. When i opened the casket, i got the message that "you have received another clue!" but nothing happened in my inventory. So i clicked on the casket again et got 3 god pages and some coins. As god pages are a common reward in low-leveled clues, it must be related somehow to the steps. And i have never heard of anyone complete a lvl 3 clue in 1 step.
