Well what did you all think of the new E3 this year? I have to go to bed right now, but I will update this more indepth in the morning. As it stands right now though, I would have to rate (Press Conference Wise)

1) Nintendo

2) Microsoft

3) Sony

And yes, I saw all three. What can I say, I'm a Microsoft Fellow but I'm really being swayed by all of the comments in this thread. But At least Microsoft didn't essentially Announce Fake News though

Comment Away :)

Sony's was seriously nothing. Nothing shocking. A price drop? We knew it was gonna happen. MGS4 and Killzone? Annouced a while back (though I'm hyped about MGS4 :P ), nothing new at all.

Let's not even try to sugarcoat it, Nintendo's was almost all about bragging rights. After dominating monthly sales, why wouldn't they? :P The new controller add-ons they announced were pretty cool, but Wii Fit didn't seem liek something they should've shown off as their big gun (I think the Zapper was cooler).

TBH, I haven't been able to see Microsoft's yet. Been too busy. :x

Considering yesterday's poll on Gamefaqs.com actually said the one game most people were impressed by was Mario Kart Wii, and that the poll was dominated by Nintendo-developed entries, and that (as your source shows) the PS3 proved to be a big nightmare, I'd say you're looking at that order upside-down...

Go here.

That's basically Nintendo's press, and boy did it sound great! I mean, I can't wait for the games, but the Wii zapper! The zapper is a controller you plug your nunchuck and wiimote into and you get full on control in first person shooter games because, indeed, it's a gun.

Second, the game variety. Reggie, nintendo's speaker, literally showed at the beginning the control wii has over the market, 114 percent in Japan, 46 Percent in the US, and the UK 42 percent. And for 33 straight weeks Wii has been sold out. So bear that in mind, the Wii library has 60 games thus far, with 100 more on the way over the year, and the DS has 300 games, 140 more to come.

The DS was great; Zelda the phantom hourglass looked amazingly cool, I still liked TP better, but you know, it still looked good for a portable system.

Then the game range, like guitar hero 3, medal of honor heroes 2, Wii fit, Metroid prime 3: Corruption (They call it corruption because Samus has a new form whereas she gets more powerful but corrupted :P ) Mario Galaxy, as they said it was the biggest mario since mario 64, and another new controller, a steering wheel, designated for car games, but moreover for mario kart wii.

Reggie also claimed that we should all face it; we are in control of 64 percent of the gaming market, and wii is the future. Sony was crap, we all new what was happening, MGS4 looks great, blah, blah, blah. Halo 3 for X-Box 360, I don't give a damn. Wii is what I focused on, and the future looks damn bright!

Hoping to get a new Signature (with matching avatar) soon. :D

I liked the games that Microsoft had to offer, especially all for the Holiday Season. They are really looking to outselling their competetors during that season with Halo 3, Bioshock, Call of Duty 4, Grand Theft Auto, all coming out around that time.

Sony had a good showing too, but they don't really have that many good games coming soon. They did have Metal Gear solid which looked really good.

Nintendo of course had new gadgets to show, but they focused more on the casual audience, even with the Super Mario Galaxy and Metroid.

Sony are stupid liars, and im pretty much boycotting all of their products. :notalk:

I like the look of what the xbox is promising - some of the trailers were stunning :D

Sorry I haven't responded yet, I woke up at 2 P.M. :-#

From reading the comments it seems that everyone sort of agrees that Microsoft's was solid, but didn't bring any big announcements. Halo 3, Mass Effect, PGR4, Splinter Cell Conviction, Bioshock, and Call of Duty 4 really graced the show. Although me being a diehard fan of Halo 3, that was pretty [cabbage] awsome!

Now my reason for Nintendo being rated behind them is that it seems to me that Nintendo is leaving the Hardcore gamers behind and really just focusing on trying to bring the mainstream audience into there products. "The big reveal was Wii Fit, and it was kind of a botch'ed reveal. While they were trying it out it didn't seem that fun, and just not worth it." Mario kart looks like it's getting simpler and acually leaving the complexity of double dash. Super Smash Brother's Brawl is coming out... December 3d? *Silence*

That being said, I think it was pretty good, but I just enjoyed Microsoft/Sony's conference more. However the vast majority may have liked Nintendo's more.

"I was watching the teleprompter while they were talking and there where pauses that people should clap into it. Then when they got to the pauses it was just all silence."

"They did a 180 turnaround from last year's press conference."

Just as Sony did.

Being an almost MS fanboy, and not liking any of the executives they acually seemed human for the first time. They were laughing, and acually making fun of themselves. "Last year they totally lacked humility and would talk about leadership without acually leading."

"Any of you guys who have watched me onstage before know that I'm more of a podium/powerpoint guy, I like to have that deathgrip on the podium and hide behind it. And this is more of Kazaa style to have a wide open stage. I've checked my bladder like 5 times and I think I'm ready to go."

And they acually announced some titles fairly soon, some that I might acually get more playtime on my PS3 than my 360. Now I know I'm a bit biased because I am a pretty hardcore gamer but that's my opinion. The real decision is up to you guys.

Hold on here... Nintendo are reverting back to what they always did best - beautiful simplicity which appeals to a wider audience. I would class myself as one of those loyal Nintendo gamers (having not had any other console in my life), and I don't mind them appealing to the wider audience. Put it this way - I'd rather play Brain Training than half the games of both the Xbox 360 and PS3, they're just all the same. Teenage lad shoots-'em-ups; it gets boring after a while.

Also, I think most Nintendo fanboys wouldn't mind losing out a bit if it means SONY suffer that little bit more. I think we all know of the hatred between those two sets of fanboys.

Ugh, yeah, it brings chills to my spine just thinking of it. I'm not a fanboy of any of the three (though I will admit that Nintendo's my fav :P ), so i tend to sit out on the fanboy showdowns.

Guys, you gotta remember that E3 isn't directed towards gamers. Bottom line they're catering towards retailers at this expo. And in that sense I think Nintendo did great in promising them a successful short term future ahead. Anyways I heard through digg that Sony's price drop isn't really a price drop.

I thought Nintendo had a decent showing. To be honest I'm not a fan of this fitness balance board. I'll probably end up getting it but those exercises seem like you'd get a higher intensity workout just walking around. There was a pushups game but I don't need to start up a console to do pushups. This sort of thing will be great for older people and the majority of America obsessed with losing weight, but I was really hoping for a huge announcement in the form of a game, rather another self improvement game going along with that trend.

 I've been looking and looking and did they not include any software developing companies on their own? Or was it only the main console companies. I thought square enix had something planned :(

Ninendo's Wii fit wasn't all they had to offer. And Wii fit looks fun, for reasons being I want to do yoga, and I don't feel like going to some yoga class, also because it has a mini DDR in it, and some other exercises. :-w

Metroid corruption looked good; so did medal of honor, and the nintendo DS zelda looked awesome, but I really was looking forward to another Trauma Center, which I don't remember seeing. It wasn't a big disappointment, not great like other years, and it didn't improve with Sony or Microsoft, but I'm happy. The wii zapper and other games looks like the gaming improvement is finally met for first person shooter games, and future capabilities look...Swell. So ya. Happy. :anxious:

Whoa, there are some really strong arguments for Nintendo. I'm starting to think differently about the conference.

Grrr, I just remembered they ARE coming out with a new Trauma Center for the Wii: Trauma Center New Blood. Apparently, it takes place 10 years before the events of the current trauma center. However, it has co-op mode, so you can do surgery with your friends, and Wii tracking system for online, so it ranks the top in the world. Fascinating...I takes place in 2007... :-k

E3 was bad this year, for one reason, they were focusing on getting more shareholders in their companies than in giving out information to fans, take Nintendo, all the stuff about the sales, the 20 minute demonstration of wii-fit to show that they are accessing a new market. Then all they do is show off 1 mario trailer, mario karts announced and no news on any other games, nothing on Battalion Wars, or SSBB, underwhelming to say the least.
