July 19, 200718 yr it might become a lost skill, but hey; the guild is a lost guild, almost every place to train crafting is better than the crafting guild jagex can do 2 things: 1. update the crafting guild (a bank and/or furnace would help) 2. add the crafting skill to turtorial island, so 'scapers will know from lvl 3 how to craft. Oh, and a crafting tutor in lumby ~Mask~ There is a crafting tutor in lumbridge, but you would never notice him.
July 19, 200718 yr well i for one have been playing for a year and a half and as of a week ago my crafting was 9 but then i saw 500 gold ore for 100 each a i just had to buy i smith them and kept on trying to sell but no one was buying so i just decided to make a ton of jewery and now my craft is 36 but i have to agree not even counting the ores i spent over 100k on jems olone to raise it that much so it is imposible to raise easily low so no noobs even bother with it not to metion they things you can craft in f2p can get up to what like 10k for power ammys and thats just not that much money compared to what u have to spend to get that high f2p for lifeI apologize for my terrible spelling
July 19, 200718 yr Waaaay back when I still didn't finish Dragon Slayer yet, crafting was the only skill I had no idea how to train. You can't really blame most people, since it was never explained in the tutorial... Then again, we didn't have a tutorial for ANYTHING back then, which makes my situation even stranger. :-k "300 programmers make their futile but glorious last stand against 1000000 angry players in The battle of Misthalin. They fight for honor, glory and new content sacrificing themselves so that their game may live on. This is Madness! This Is JAGEEEX!"
July 19, 200718 yr I like crafting.. it's a interesting skill very different..it is a little slow compared to the other skill...(I did 1000 bowls a bit back and turned them into stew to raise my cooking/crafting) For members it probably be faster since they can do higher level items with higher level experience per item to do.
July 19, 200718 yr Crafting is not really much different from other "produce items nobody needs unless you are have a super-high level, and even then almost nobody needs it because there are so many other super high levels around and the demand for these items is so small that a lot of people who can make these items do it for free" skill. Say, smithing. It's different from mass-production skills like Herblore. You still need a high level to make a profit, but at least you can massively produce popular potions and sell them. Same thing with fishing and cooking - things like sharks can be sold in bulk, and no matter how much you produce, you can easily sell everything, much quicker than the time to produce it. With crafting, you may be high enough to make a Fury ammy, but the stones are so hard to get that there are very of them to make ammies out of, and finding the stone to begin with is much harder than getting the crafter to do it. Even if you charge 10-20k per craft, getting just several requests a day isn't going to make you rich. Same with smithing - now that there are a ton of 99 smiths out there, the profits you might get from making R2Hs don't nearly cover the expense of getting the 99. But at least with smithing you CAN make some profit if you decide to make cannonballs. Crafting is the skill that: - Takes longer to level than most other skills - Costs quite a bit to level, with absolutely no profit on investment - No long term point of having a high level, can neither make a profit nor use it for own gameplay advantage So, yeah, it's one of the most useless skills to have a high level in, and thus nobody bothers except skillers. :-/ Live free or die. First option is exhausted, so guess what remains?
July 19, 200718 yr Crafting is my favorite skill in the game, I absolutely love how so many items are made by we, the crafters. I want it to be my first 99-and I'm pretty sure it will be. I know very few people that have high crafting and/or enjoy it like me, but, hey, what do I know. I'm a crafting noob :P catch it now so you can like it before it went so mainstream
July 19, 200718 yr As a free player with 70 crafting, I find it to be one of the least amusing skills to train effectively or quickly. I thought that making power ammy's could be a nice way to train up my crafting, but it wasn't. Buying diamonds sure is easy, but selling power ammy's is such a hassle =/ The only fast ways of leveling it are very expensive and are a complete waste of money, not to mention slow. Crafting could use some updating. EDIT - Signature far exceeds our sig limits but since it's so colourful you can keep it.
July 19, 200718 yr I always liked crafting lol :? And now I've reached my goal of being able to make full black d hide :) Funny to think about how impossible that seemed back when I was like 40 crafting f2p.
July 19, 200718 yr Get over it. There will always be noobs to make my amulets and rings for me so I don't have to waste my time on it.
July 19, 200718 yr I really, really do not enjoy this man. ^ catch it now so you can like it before it went so mainstream
July 19, 200718 yr The difference between Combat and Crafting, is the fact that you can get straight into Combat if you have a Weapon. But with Crafting, you need various materials/equipment before you can even think about leveling. So, a lot of people can't find the motivation to Craft straight away, and neglect it for a while and think about other things, such as Combat, Woodcutting, Fishing, ETC. Skills which you can get into straight away, just by obtaining 1 item. That's my opinion Crafting, and from personal experience, I crafted to a high level when I had enough money to afford it. I wouldn't want to get stuck into a Skill if I could only level 20 levels or so. Instead, I would wait until I had enough money to raise to an appropriate level of which to my satisfaction. And to what I'm capable of. Interesting topic, I must say :-k. - Honoured :. im 99 craft.hi m8 craft can be fun when helping others i made tonns of green bodyes to help a m8 in f2p get 99 mage =) worked well for both of us -1st lvl 3 to 99craft-
