cirdec Posted July 18, 2007 Share Posted July 18, 2007 I don't remember seeing anything about losing points (or getting less points) by shooting eggs at the runners, yet I was being called a noob everytime I use the cannon (They even say only the collector can use the cannon or we lose points). No one loses points if you shoot something in terms of getting negative points for it. Another populair believe is; you don't get points for something killed with a cannon. I tested this by shooting all the runners on wave 1 and I can confirm you still get killing points for shooting them. the defender (guy who lures) gets less points.by using the cannon on runners, the defenders lose points because there are less runners to trap (which gives points to them, and the team)If a monster is killed by the cannon the defenders/ healers can't kill it and will get less points.Yes, this is cabbage! Try it yourself if you don't believe me. I'm kinda a pro BA-er. =P The only way you "lose" points is; you get less points for eggs you collect, because you only get points for the collected eggs which aren't shot (just check the advanced breakdown). So when I wasn't very experienced at BA yet, I told people to not shoot because we'd lose points. However by shooting a few runners (around 4) you lose 1 point max, probably 0. And you save a lot of time. There for; if you're defender is slow, shoot away! Tactic wise; it's the best for the collector to keep getting eggs, filling the hopper and destroying them if they have a full inventory. Don't shoot the healers, ranger and fighters; the eggs do not enough damage to compensate the point loss. If the healers and the attackers are both done and it seems like you have to wait long for the defender just shoot. Getting in the higher waves quick is more important then anything, because there you can get really good points. I also never suggest the collector to shoot, he can just get more eggs, instead let the attacker or healer shoot. (The best if the attacker; the healer can just heal everyone to full health to get some cheap heal points.) I hope this helped, if you still have questions about BA, you can always PM me. If a monster is killed by the cannon the defenders/ healers can't kill it and will get less points. Plus, the cannon should never be used until your job is completely finished. Retired 2146 overall - 136 combat - 6 skillcapes Plus I think the whole teenage girl thing will end soon (hopefully), because my girlfriend is absolutely in love with him(she is 18), and im beginning to feel threatened by his [Justin Bieber] dashing looks. Myths about collector loosing points for people shooting cannon and defender not getting points for not trapping runners are so widely spread now and so wrong that they actually start hurting experienced players! It's time to stop those myths! If an Attacker has time to shoot out runners, he/she should do it 100%. And if Defender allows runners to go through, anyone who is close by should shoot out the runners. Missed runners is one of the most negative factors on overall team performance. I'm pro at it though 8-) But basically, the cannon is useful as hell when you have a less than capable defender on your team. The defenders main job is to stop letting the runners through the cave, that's what loses points for them, and the team. It doesn't matter who kills the runners, The only point penalty given is when the runner makes it to the cave.
