I might be making a premature assumption, but most players who use profanity are the miniclip types, who think swearing is big and cool.

I tihnk that it is more what the stars imply. I mean, if there is: mother******, you might as well have just said the word.

if jagex allowed mild swearing, young members should have to read in the terms and conditions or whatever else mems get that this is a T game, which includes mild violence, and some language.

agreed, if you're supposed to be 13+ to play this then mild swearing should be allowed, but jagex babies their community..

Anyway, don't make generalizations.

Censored text is not reportable either way so it shouldn't be a problem >>;

there is other ways to have offensive language in RS other than swearing...

 

 

 

 

 

but really,stars shouldent count, i dont care if you think you know what it is, people just go around saying like "**** ************ ******* ***" or put words in the middle to sound like a sentence...

I am sure parents would not be glad to see their 13 year old son learning profanity through a game that they dish out money for on a monthly basis.

Oh give me a break. Over-protective parents really give me a headache. If they don't learn it over RS, they'll learn it at school the next day or the day after. It's just like those parents who claim that RS encourages satanism/occult/whatever. This game is for those aged 13 or over, so I really don't see the need for a censor. If one person tries to offend someone else, then you should report that person. A censor is really not needed. At all.

 

 

 

Back on topic...

 

If a word is blocked out, why would you still report them? The censor served it's purpose, and half the time it even blocks words that are not offensive. You have no way of knowing what they intended to say. You should only report when someone tries to bypass the censor.

I got banned for 3 days one time because I was telling a story about how some guy was still trying to use the "it blocks your password" scam and someone thought that I was trying to use it myself.
