Well today, moving to giant skeletons i saw a weird goblin running around with the well known URUK-HAI sword.

Heres the picture of them.

This is what the goblin had.

So people if you've seen similar things like that let us all know? :uhh:

Do you really think that a sword with a crude hook on the end was made up by the good people who made that movie?

Oh, they had armour in the movie... they must've come up with that too.

Why does everyone source armours and weapons to other fantasy works????

every single weapon and armour in every single medieval-esque fantasy are taken from real pre-gun weapons

There's only so many types of sword etc so obv theres overlap

Dragonkin Journals :: Ports Stories :: Elder Chronicles :: Boss Slayer :: Penance King :: Kal'gerion Titles :: Gold Statue

I dot think they took that sword from LOTR, but they most definately took mithril from it.

Dude, that as merely coincidental.

Jagex staff are very creative, they don't need to rip off anything from somewhere else.

Or maybe they consult Ask Jeeves?

Pretty much what Dragon said.

Thread terminated.

I guess that means I'm the thread Terminator?

No Tip.Iters were harmed in the making of this post.

they get most ideas from other stuff like Monty Python, Austin Powers, James Bond, hell I've even heard people say that the Shadow Sword looks like the master sword from LOZ! we lovingly call these allusions "easter eggs"

Currently will be using my Oni Tsurugi account to attempt to get 99 on all free skills without spending any gp, just for the sake of doing so.

Once my friend irl was reading a book about Halo :?

Anyway, the O was just like the elemental shield (purple one), had the dot and everything

I can guarantee you that nearly every time (99.9999% of the time) within most games will have been take from;

*Real life, past and present

*A book or piece of literature

*Another game

*Some other pre-existing source

When there's something which hasn't been done before and its good there will be a copy of it very soon after.

Its just the way the world works.

Anyway, the "urukhai" swords were not seen like this described in the books, so the movie directors and people created them.

Runescape is older than the movies...

Well, this particular graphic may not be, but anyway, people borrow heavily from everywhere in most games...

Check me out on YouTube!

It's a fantasy world, many many RPG games and movies take their place there. No wonder some things match.
