iceharwk
do you think this is right these items change so constantly that when u get the money u can never afford them? an example is the robin about 3 months back it was 3.7m now its 5m im not sayin its a bad thing but its price is so unstable and some ppl r suggesting that its going to rise! yes ttrail items r quite unique and exciting (i know i love my white beret \ ) but dont you think that there prices need to settle at some kind of average i mean comon 1.3m increase in 3 months and it seems to be one of the commonest lvl3 clue items (out of the special items) so what do you think about these price changes? ice p.s. i dont mind 3rd age goin down :P
no_way2go
It all depends on supply and demand... Look at red masks: a week ago I merched some at 36.5m, now people are buying at 39.8M. Why? Because everyone wants one before halloween. - Back to casual f2p scaping due to limited time (university and girlfriend ) -
iceharwk
yeh but halloween items r becomin rarer and rarer and thanks to ppl accidentally eating them thats pretty much self explanitary(i mean easters) but ttrail items seem a bit weird though robins stayed at 3.7m for 1 or 2 years then sudden increase as new items introduced it should hav gone down as there was more chance for better and rarer items
Alg
the robin hat only increased because some {insert foul language of your choice} price manipulators convinced everyone that the term "hold on to your robin hood hats, everyone" meant that they were discontinuing the hat... runescape's community was stupid to the point of forgetting the expression "hold on to your hats". foodmanfood1
personaly i think they go up becuase a greater quantity of people want tham at them moment. Once those people get them the price will probably go down. But a huge problem is botters getting files loads of money and tearing down the economy. Sooner or later everyone will have to bot to be able to afford anything! Imagine people selling bowstring for 1.5k each... :ohnoes: I don't like fun, it upsets me.-- Marilyn Manson
iceharwk
yeh i agree its mainly bots who are bring down the community more bots means less resources for us playing people and means there gettin more money and raise prices #-o this aint good

I guess demand is going up much higher. Check out whips. I got my first for 1.5M; now, I can't find one below 1.65M. What the heck. iceharwk
i was around when they were 1.9m (good times...) but what im sayin is it means theres gonna be less for us e.g. bots takin trees=less logs=less xp
highlanders
Supply and demand. It doesn't matter if they're treasure trail's or not. Idk why the demand, I'll theorise. Now that rares are out of range for most Runescaper's budjet, they buy a ranger set. The dark bow introduced, people wanted to get Ze Best ranging gear, and went massively buying robins and ranger boots. Maybe now that ranger sets are kinda pimpness symbols, people buy them to impress their friends and strangers(it doesn't really work though). Maybe Jagex reduced the odds of getting one off a treasure trail (lower offer). Maybe people are hanging onto the ones they got more than before, resulting in lower offer. And well.. Some things are making the demand raise so much that it's surpassing the ever growing offer(curse of the tt items = unmerchantable). But true, berrets, cavs, and tralala are all pretty fun. When I was around lvl 70, my black and white berrets followed me eVeRyWhErE on my head(they took turns). 2480+ total

Normally, gold is sold, not resources. Plus, if nobody bought from them, then they'd probably have enough sense to lower their prices to something more reasonable. But since there are still many people willing to pay the increasing prices, then they can control much of the raw material economy. meb
Robin hood hats stable for 2 years? They have been rising slowly ever since I have played Runescape. And they are certainly not the most common item. there is more demand for them than there are people that get them from clues. So the prices rise. Retired 2146 overall - 136 combat - 6 skillcapes Plus I think the whole teenage girl thing will end soon (hopefully), because my girlfriend is absolutely in love with him(she is 18), and im beginning to feel threatened by his [Justin Bieber] dashing looks. Alg
Ok.. Soulfire21
If you let the market run it's course, prices will stabalize. For instance, prices for the Robin have stabalized at around 5 mill. That's what's happening. And you said it yourself, the change took months, so it's not like people are making money off them quickly (buying for 3.7 and selling for 5).
