bartoron
Judging from the picture, I'm going to say that you have a westie. My friend has two westies (one male and one female) and a cat and the cat is fine. :D

Nero
Well this is how it went with my family: We had a german shepard for about 6 years, then we got a kitten. They got along fine and I actually have a picture of our kitten sleeping on our old dog's back. The german shepard eventually passed away ( ), and a few years later we got a new puppy. Unfortunately our kitten (which was now a full grown cat, didn't like that we had a new pet and would attack it all the time. Basically, dog first then kitten worked for us. Cat first then dog didn't. It all really depends on the personality of your dog, our cat might not have like our new dog because it was the alpha male of it's litter, thought I don't know. If your dog is a really passive one then you should be perfectly fine. Vienna Raszyn Warsaw Klushino
Giordano
Well, most well-mannered dogs, from my experience, aren't agressive to new things. When they bark at your neighbors' yard it's probably because it knows somethings there, but doesn't know what. All the dogs I've met were barking at me from inside the house or backyard. When I've gone to them they think 'Oh, it's just a stupid teenager...*pause*pet me noob.' Most likely your dog would rush onto the cat, not for attack, but to recongize it (some pushing and long sniffing may be required) but usally shouldn't full-out hurt it. If it does hurt it a bit, follow Meol's advise. I'm not saying you dog is this way, some dogs are crazy bleepers that attack small things. Or bigger things by your dog's size.:P "The cry of the poor is not always just, but if you never hear it you'll never know what justice is." Now, that was quite funny. I'm not saying you dog is this way, some dogs are crazy bleepers that attack small things. Or bigger things by your dog's size.:P Yes, be careful with that. This thingy: once attacked a fully grown German Shepherd; gladly they later became friends, but your story might not end up the same. That might happen to you as well, so don't be too confident.
