You did burn the image using a tool for image burning didn't you? You didn't just burn the actual ISO file to a disc? :P

Make sure to use a program like Nero to "Burn Image" to disc. If you can choose the "Boot from CD" option in your BIOS (I think you have it), then you got that part right, you need to just fix the disc.

well i found my problem....

i wasnt paying attention and just hit ok when it was "done" copying over

i realized the disk was too small and it couldn't copy all the files... over half....

so ill pick up a new cd tomorow and see what happens :)

I don't care how simple Ubuntu is now... If you can't burn an ISO to a CD you shouldn't touch Linux in any shape or form. :?

Just keep using Windows. If anyone else in your family uses that particular computer they'll be just as lost as you too. Learning how to use different and sometimes multiple applications to do the same thing as you would do in Windows is just a waste of time. Also... Gaming, you're pretty much giving it all up unless you can install WINE or dual-boot with XP, which sorta defeats the purpose of installing Linux in the first place.

If you're just trying it out, sure go ahead. I'm all for learning new things, but if you use your computer for anything semi-serious you'll be back to Windows within a month. :P

For running Windows wireless drivers on Ubuntu, you should try NDISWrapper. It's made specifically for this.

yes... i tried that

i still haven't mastered installing things on Linux :XD:

so the instructions didn't make any sence to me

so if you could halp with that it would be great :D
