No, you only need to complete the quest to gain access to the rune essence mine. If you bought all your essence, you could get from 1-99 without completing it. Retired Tip.It Crew Mapper.

Not sure, think you have to do the quest to actually be able to rc, but seeing as i did that years ago im a lil rusty, not like the quest is mind blowingly hard ordeal though. Solo GWD'er Drops: Bandos Hilt x 1/ boots x 1 / Steam staff x 1 / Shards x 9 99 Str/ 99 Att/ 99 HP (More to come...)
