Good place for melee training? (F2P, 68/65/60)

Featured Replies

I'm trying to get ATK to 70, I've got 68 right now.

I'm thinking of training on Ice Giants, good idea?

Barrow Drops: Guthan's Helm, Karil's Crossbow.

5 Pieces of the Crystal Key so far.

I would never consider meeting people irl. Not just because of risks that they could be a 40 year old man who is only interested in the bottom half of your body.

If you dont bother wasting cash at food and like to bank all the time then do Ice giants or lesser demons. White knights in falador or Hobgoblins in rune mine (40-50 wildy). i trained at hobs with my pure. 20-27 attack levels in 1-5 days! (43-60 :o)

In SoS flesh crawlers.. good gem drop rate and very aggressive

If you insist on killing ice giant

remember: wear a rune chain

rune chain gives more crush def than rune pl8

Got me 70/70/70 from 40/40/40 in like 2 weeks.

Tiragath2, I suggest you try Level 4 of the SOS. Ankous make for some nice killing exp, and they drop some of the best stuff. :)

You have gotten several answers but you might want to give some

thought to what makes a monster good for training on.

If you want good loot then fight G & L demons, or I & M giants.

They offer the best loot in F2P.

The "price" that you pay for that better loot is time and food.

You will hit less often against a higher level monster

and they will hurt you more. That requires healing food.

All of that adds up to "wasted" time.

If you want fast, easy, and safe exp then train on lowbie monsters.

You earn melee exp according to HitDone*4

The level of the monster doesn't matter.

Hitting a 2 on a Lumbridge rat earns you 8 in exp.

Hitting a 2 on a Greater Demon earns you the exact same 8 in exp.

So, unless you want the loot, you may as well train on lowbies.

In addition, lowbies will rarely hurt you. So you won't need much, if any

food to train on them for hours at a time.

For fast exp you want to be hitting constantly.

Since you will be able to kill a lowbie quickly, you will need another

one right away to be able to keep the exp flowing in.

That means that you need an area crowded with them or

an area with a quick respawn time.

The SoS has both of that.

You can easily find a place in the SoS where you can slaughter

lowbies, non-stop, for hours at a time while requiring very little food.

Try the fleshcrawlers in the SoS.

Hope this helps

Ok guys, I'll go with the SoS, these Ice Giants are making me use alot more food then I thought they would.

Barrow Drops: Guthan's Helm, Karil's Crossbow.

5 Pieces of the Crystal Key so far.

That's pretty much how it is with higher level monsters.

That's the price that you pay for getting a chance at better loot.

Remember, for fast training you want to be hitting something "constantly".

Hope this helps

I'd suggest either Flesh Crawlers like others have said or the Giant Red Spiders in the Stronghold of Security (3rd floor).

I'm training my strength at the moment to level 80 on Flesh Crawlers and so far it's been going well. You don't have to worry about bringing good food because cooked Salmon and Trout will last you hours down there. Plus you're likely to get anywhere from 25,000-35,000 experience per hour with Flesh Crawlers.
