You need to stand a couple steps away from them, they will not walk at you.

I do 7k casts of fire bolt each run there [16 Antifire(4) pots] and only have trouble with space in the first 20 minutes since I only leave 4 empty inven spaces. If you alch the rune items you will have no trouble with space, the prodominant rune item is rune limbs which have no real worth anyways so are good to alch.

A little explanation about the pictures above and a few tips

-For the first, walk that path and save 1 invent spot (or more) for the bronze axe located in the pirate pub. That way when you get to the drags you can drop the axe and you have an extra invent space.

-For the second, try standing in the middle of a group of irons. As you can see the south-eastern most corner has the most iron dragons in the surrounding area.

-Also, go from Ardy market and walk south-east until you get to the boats and take it to Brimhaven, instead of going another way its the fastest like that.

-Only take 905gp to pay for the Ardy boat trip and entrance into the dungeon, this also saves an invent spot.

-Alching runes are definatly good.

-Fill the rest of your open invent slots except for one with food you wont mind dropping(tuna, bass, lobbys even), that way if you have an accident you don't have to bank due to lack of food and if you need space for good drop you can drop your food and not regret it.

If you don't mind I took the liberty of editing your picture of your invent to something I would use. (remember opinions may vary, I find this to be best for me though)
