FINAL VERSION 06/10/2007

2f48c82843.jpg

Well check it, I felt like making a space scene, as I haven't made one in a while.

Rock and ice planet textures from DeviantArt.

'Stardust' brush from DeviantArt.

It's taken me a cumulative total of around 5 hours now, each edit makes me more happy with it.

This is my final version now, I'm totally happy with it. If you feel there is something more to be done, then please tell me.

Comments and shrines to my greatness are always welcome.

Nice job on the font!!

Though, where the planets connect, is a little to bright for me, other than that, i like it

Yay, a positive comment on font. <3:

I designed it to be bright, I wanted to convey how immense and blinding the collision of the planets is.

Thanks.

oh it still looks good, but IMO its a little bright, but if you like it, thats all that counts :P

The font, REALLY goes well with it

Text is about perfect. I dont see anything bad, but the black fades onto the larger planet slightly too quick, maybe smudge it out.

Yea I was thinking about the left planet. It does look a little off from the shadow. I'll try mess with it and see what I get.

More comments? I need some more opinions.

Would be good if someone can give advance critique.

spacescenev24.jpg

You can sharpen the planets a little more. Make it look more realistic.

  • Author

I did that, I think it looks better. Thanks. :)

spacescenev24.jpg

The planets are pretty low quality, not that great. They both look almost mechanical more than just a planet.

Not a big fan of the colors in the background, I don't think they really work with the planets.

Sorry if I sound harsh, but I know what photoshop can produce for planets and space scenes.

Looks pretty good. Every thing I would c/c on has pretty much been mentioned. But I want to emphasize that the planets don't really look like planets very much, as mentioned above. Font does fit very well.

-All sigs by me.

[My Gallery]

Please remember my editpic is really ruff.

1. Green- I like the length of light. Too short and you won't be able to light the bigger planet like you've done. Any smaller and you just have a huge black planet. But with the length given to the left has to be given to the right.

2. Yellow (barely seeable in my pic, sry)- But as you can see where you have made it really bright on the left also needs the same area on the right (on the collision axis).

3. Cyan/Blue arrows- These crevices/spots are too prominent. The light should be overshadowing them, not them breaking through the bright light.

4. Red- Blue planet: Think these were made with the crevices in the editing process but don't really show any design use. Just look like spots. Red planet: these should be shaded/lighted like the mountain area shown in the red arrow.

4. Violet- Reflection, really shouldn't be used here.

5. Blue planet's satellite/moon- is in the foreground. But for some reason the light is able to reach its side but the blue planet is not fully engulfed with light. How is that possible? If the light reaches as it should to match the left then the blue planet should be 98% lit and the moon be 90% lit (360̢̮â¬Å¡Ãâð 3-D). I might bring back the length of light a bit so that you wont have to light the foreground of the moon but instead show an eclipse type effect and so that you wont have to fully light the blue planet.

6. For some reason the light moves along 3 different axis's. The brown planet has light from a slightly tilted off horizontal and in the opposite direction of the collision axis, the blue planet along the collision axis, and the moon along some different axis of which i have no idea where from. Might wanna get them all straight.

7. I like the colors of everything, including the planets. The stars and gas looks fine. The text looks great.

8/10

Heartz

Pragmatic, efficient, perfectionist. So I'm sorry ahead of time for any views, opinions, and decisions from myself :ÃÆÃâÃâ¦Ã¾

Here is my C/C:

1. The shading of the planets is not right. As I know, planes are quite round, yet the shading looks more like an elipse on the left. The right has a perfest shading.

2. Get rid of the moon, or put it more to the left, so it looks more realistic and nicer.

3. Try adding clouds. Right now, theese planets have an atmosphere, yet no clouds.

4. Maybe a spaceship on the far right side of the planets

5. Get rid of those two circles on the lower side of the blue planet, don' t seem to fit there.

But, even now it' s a 10/10.

Not bad, but not great IMO.

It seems a little plain, but it all flows fairly well. The image quality isn't all that great either.

7/10 from me.

(P.S, the text was great in this signature).

( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°)

My word, this is amazing! I must say, this is the best sig I have ever seen.

But I suggest this:

-add some red lava flows on the dark side of the small planet, since the colided

-oh and there is a bright white elipse on the right side top of the blue planet, probably missed it with the moon taking out. And watch this:

that looks like a litlle skull :XD: KEEP IT!

Wow thanks! Never been told my art was the best anyone has ever seen before. <3:

Thanks for suggestions as well.

spacescenev24.jpg

They planets are way too saturated, they don't just look real.

I don't want to really link my own work but maybe it'd help:

my own planet I made a while back. I used Alyn's Advanced Planet creation guide which is amazing and tells you a lot.

New Version up.

I'm going to experiment with some planet textures, so maybe I'll add it to this signature or make a new one. Thanks Nadril.

spacescenev24.jpg

Nadril, I could have SWORN that was a real planet

Awwm, the picture doesnt work

Should be working now.

@Nadril: I can't seem to locate the tutorial- the full view isn't it and I downloaded it and there were just some firefox documents. I'd really like to see it.

spacescenev24.jpg

I don't like the thing that looks like the lasso tools in use.
