Best place to train magic 62-82 (Firebolting)

Featured Replies

Well I recently did Desert treasure and Family crest on my pure. I have figured out that firebolting is more expensive and slower than high alching, but I prefer this way since I get HP xp and do not have to concentrate on the screen continuously. (I can click monster and just wait for it to die). I don't know exactly how many firebolts I'll need, but I'm going to start with 70k.

So what I'm hoping for is a good place for me to train. Preferably it'd be a place with a safespot since I only have 1 defence and 11 pray which I gained on a DT prequest. It would also be great if the monster had relatively high hp and not a high defence against magic. I'd also like fast xp, which means I don't want to wait between killing them. Drops do not matter so much, but if you mention them that'd be a bonus.

Thanks in advance!

Caged ogres are an option and after you get the magic level for the magic guild you should fire bolt the zombies downstairs.

This will NOT give you any good drops.

Castlewars is quite nice if you're looking for something fun with decent EXP. Just mage anyone who isn't wearing a red or black dragonhide. If you're looking for safespots use the underground tunnels, behind fallen rocks. Or if you prefer the boring but faster path, caged ogres above ardougne definitely!! (Like the guy above says)

Fire bolting is only more expensive than alching if you don't get any drops. If you train on iron dragons, it will most likely be cheaper than alching, and you may break even or make a profit if you get really lucky.

Iron dragons arent the best monster to mage, just the best known.

I don't think thats a good idea at 65 mage, however, once he hits 75+ mage, perhaps this is an option.

Fire Bolt averages about 34 exp per cast but

Crumble Undead averages about 39 per cast.

So you might want to consider CU instead.

(I can click monster and just wait for it to die).

The slayer staff and Void Knight mace will allow you to auto-cast CU.

I don't know exactly how many firebolts I'll need, but I'm going to start with 70k.

You will need about 61400 if you do FB or about 53600 if you do CU

If you can use the Chaos Gauntlets then you will need even fewer.

There are lots of places that will work well for you.

I always prefered to use a multi-combat spot.

So, you could try casting from the key room in the Varrock sewers

across the water into the 4 zombie ladder room. (Works for both FB and CU)

Or you could try casting in the screen/torture room on the 2nd floor

of the White knight castle. Safe when you cast through the screen.

It would also be great if the monster had relatively high hp and not a high defence against magic.

Perhaps, White knights.

I'd also like fast xp, which means I don't want to wait between killing them.

White knights have a 3 spawn in that room with another 3 or so in nearby rooms.

Drops do not matter so much...

White knights drop mostly Iron junk.

Zombies drop mostly trash.

Hope this helps

i think you wouldn't get as good exp but BLACK DRAGONS would be good if you want to kick back and read a book lol.... do they drop vissage? im not sure=\
