Daily SKETCHBOOK, and community COLORING book!$$$$$$$$$$$

Featured Replies

This is just a thread to show people's progress over time. I hope that you will practice just 5-20 minutes each day, doodle away and post what you came up with. After 5 months you will be surprised at how much better you are doing.

They don't have to be good drawings. But I have seen these kind of threads and people really improve over time. The key is consistency.

Feel free to comment in this thread, post your work, etc. We can make one big Tip sketchbook!

There are no assigned topics. Draw whatever comes to mind.

In addition anyone is welcome to color/paint any of my linework. If others wish to make theirs available they can post a notice.

Here are today's works so far. I am focusing on quick sketches of poses, clothing etc. No reference, just from the mind. I might use reference later. I am just trying to learn to work more quickly without stressing over every little point.

The sketchpad was for random sketches. This is encouraging daily submissions to chart progress...slightly different. If anything it is a cross between the sketchpad and the daily sketch thread.

Anyway, I'm good at drawing, but the problem is, i can't take a picture of them and download them.

It is alot harder on paint so I tend to use my wonderful hand :)

ok some C/C:

its an ok start but i think the body needs more realism maybe you should study a body of a guy, for example go to conceptart.org then go to the forums and look at the scetchbook section and find out how the curves on a male look because it just looks like your guy is wearing a tshirt :P

cant wait to see you improve on your characters tho :)

Alrighty, found a clothing catalog of the wifey's around. They are good for poses. ...albeit slightly exagerated ones.

thanks everyone for the sigs!

Some painter work today. I am trying to work faster, get more out of fewer brush strokes, etc. The colors are just for exageration sake.

Might do more later tonight if I get time.

A little stretching exercise :) This was without reference, just playing with painter some more. Working on poses, a bit of shading, etc. I may finish it, may not. I am under no delusion that it is all that accurate, but it is a fun piece.

I prefer the cartoony style, realism doesnt appeal to me at all. but i think you need to reconsider it looking like a t-shirt lol. (he's actually walking is you look at the legs how one is slightly bended and one is straight.)

Now for some cc on your stuff, i think they are a bit crooked, for the dragon plate the picture is very rough, there is only shading on the plate part. and the elf is really scary 0_0
