Being critical, is it possible?

Featured Replies

I think theres a difference between;

Asking someones age in a discussion,

and following people asking how old they are, asking personal details like that.

What if he would be 17 years old? that would create a switch in the whole conversation.

You know, dont be too sad about it. I meet these people everyday when I pk in Edgeville world 4 or 17, they are even more annoying. And I doubt he really is 5 years old, a bit too young if you ask me.

My conclusion: He mustve heard other people saying nerd, a word thats more powerful then 'noob'. Like someone said before, it happens in every Massive Multiplayer Online Role Playing Game.

Lately, I've been flamed more and more ("nerd", "no-life", etc.) when I was a critical towards someone. A good example of this happened just 1 minute ago (note; the other one is level 106):

He really didn't make any sence to me.

Now the questions: Was this my fault? Was I too blund/rude? If so, what should I need to do to change it, while staying critical?

Or; Was he too rude/flame lovely? If so, is this just one person, or does it happen more often?

Thanks for your time.

Disclaimer: This was just an example. My actual question is at the end "is this just one person, or does it happen more often? "

You were both rude.

I didn't knew where slayer cave was till about lvl 45 slayer, so what?

I had no need to go there..

"Talk sense to a fool, and he calls you foolish"

I wouldn't take these sorts of encounters too seriously. Personally I would expect a lv 106 to know where the slayer caves are (levels require time, time brings experience), just like you did.

A fool will take critisim the wrong way (and end up insulting you), and since there are many "fools" playing this game, this sort of thing will probably happen more then once.

I think you were quite polite, although one of the curses of the internet is that there is no way of knowing the tone of voice, and those questions could have been taken the wrong way.

In answer to the question: I don't think you can be critical with everyone, and sometimes you will find people who just don't understand.

i think he meant 15 instead of 5, any sensible parent of a 5 year old keeps them away from the computer

Five year olds may not have the best spelling or grammar, but, they don't cuss you out with foul language substituting 4's for a's and 3's for e's.

If I were to gain about 15 more combat levels, and decided to go P2P, I might ask the same question. I have no idea where the slayer caves would be, because I have never done slayer. But, does that make me a stupid cretin who can't carry on a decent conversation without telling people to "stfu bcuz my main iz zezima"? Of course not.

Lawl, owned.

What do you expect from a 5 yr. old?

*Sigh*... There Goes The Neighborhood...

Probably just some idiot saying he is 5, because a 5 year old would not get this game. But yes you handled it well and its 95% his fault.
