Add "videos" to the pictures sticky

Featured Replies

I suggest adding the words "video" to the "post all your rs pictures here" sticky in General discussion. This would give users a specific spot to post videos that do not merit much dicussion in the General forum. It would also give players in the Rate This forum a place to post vids with nothing to rate.

If enough players start posting videos, perhaps a new sticky for videos should then be made? Depends on how many vids get posted in the existing sticky.

Graveyard videos should be the exception, those staying in that forum.

I'm pretty sure nobody would frown if you posted a video on that sticky so post away! :).

However, so people are 100% sure they can we could just change the title of it and the first post in accordance to what you said.

Excluding This Sticky, videos relating to achievements can still be posted on Rate This, however runescape amv's could be posted in General if they caused discussion. If they don't do any of the above, are they worth posting? If they don't add to a point in a discussion, or anything, are they worth it?

I don't think there's enough to merit a sticky, or fuse a sticky for videos...

You could say the same for the pictures sticky :P This is meant for runescape vids, not off topic ones. This would give players a place to post vids other then General or Rate This. I am not saying vids should be banned from those places at all. For example, a short vid from a monster hunting trip, a vid of a level up, or of yourself trtaining a skill, etc. All these merit no discussion in General, or a rating in Rate This, yet are still neat to watch.

And how many users want to watch someone doing something in-game that they've seen before, or have already done themselves?

Unless there's some category of Rs Vids that I, and the TIF community do not know of, I, probably others, do not see the use of this, even if the motivation behind it is good.

I agree with this suggestion, we don't want topics made with every RS vid in it.

Indeed. It would clog up General discussion with useless threads.

Why not? It's not like it does any harm? There is plenty of useless and pointless pictures in the sticky. It's still fun to look at them. Videos are the same way.

I really like this idea. However I'd say that videos could be posted elsewhere still if they serve a purpose in whichever forum these posted in; that's pretty obvious though.

I think it might be a bit of a bandwidth stress to have all our vids on the same sticky. Every time someone opened it, it would be a massive strain on the servers to load all of the videos posted on the sticky.

Just a bunch of links? Not much strain there... :?

I think its links...not like RSC.

And I'm agreeing with this, I misunderstood the goal of this suggestion at the beginning just a little wee bit... :-w

That would just be a 3 second job. You're getting a thumbs up here so I guess it wouldn't hurt to ask someone.
