- DFS: Awesome if you have the cash (I'm saving up for one)

 

- Full Guthan: The most useful slayer tool besides whip and maybe black mask you'll ever lay your hands on.

 

- Godsword: Fun to play around with but not needed

 

- Bandos Armor: Nice little strength and defense bonuses, but not needed

 

- 3rd Age Armor: Looks pretty good, but not worth the price

 

- Full Torag: Use full dharoks if you can't afford both, but the helmet is good

 

- Full Dharok: Good for training strength and having fun in pits

 

- Full Verac: Good for boss monsters

 

- Full Ahrim: Very cheap and good for pvp and metal drags

 

- Whip: Most useful item for training attack and defence (godswords close)

 

- Full Karil: needed for mith dragons, nice to have overall

 

- Dragon Boots: Nice little strength bonus

 

- Berserker Ring: Nifty to have when you want a ko

 

- Warrior Ring: Cheap and good for GodWars

 

- Infinity Boots: Look good, cheap, and good bonuses

 

- Fury: Amazing looks and all around useful

 

- D Chain, Legs: They are a status symbol, but only kind of useful

 

- Robin Hat: Kind of expensive, but good for training range

- 70 Prayer: If you're over 100 combat and ever do any PvP, get this.

 

- 99 Range: pretty good, not needed as much as the other 2, but still good (I have 93)

 

- 94 Mage: Used for lots of PvP and fun to see people turn into ice cubes

• - DFS - Great if you can afford it. If not defender and/or obby shield works fine.
   
  - Full Guthan - Probebly the best set of items ever brought into runescape, Id pay 10x what its worth now.
   
  - Godsword - Havn't had a chance to try a godsword out yet, so....ya.
   
  - Bandos Armor - Awsome armor looks crazy cool and great bonuses
   
  - 3rd Age Armor - eh, not worth the money, its good stats, but before bandos i would rather have dragon legs, neitiznot, fighter torso, and defender
   
  - Full Torag - As a set is pretty usuless, but the helm,plate, and legs are worth it great defence
   
  - Full Dharok - dont use dharoks much, but a great (& risky) way to train
   
  - Full Verac - 2nd to guthans, hitting through defence has made alot of high level def monster much easier
   
  - Full Ahrim - robes and hood are awsome, great stats (beast robes in game) but the staff is kinda lame as is the special
   
  - Whip - best 1 handed weapon in game, defently worth the 1.5m (???) its worth
   
  - Full Karil - not worth it at all b/c jagex screwed the stats over (barrows is supose to be the best armor in game, and yet the defence is barely better than black d hide, and the attack bonus is the same...)
   
  - Dragon Boots - Worth the 500k, +4 str is awsome, thats +1 more damage
   
  - Berserker Ring - same as d boots (not same price)
   
  - Warrior Ring - I dont think it makes much of a difference really :\
   
  - Infinity Boots - not sure price of these atm (still around 1m im guessing) not reaqlly worth it, +1 mage better than magic boots?
   
  - Fury - worth it, great def bonuses along with str and prayer
   
  - D Chain, Legs - the both arent really worth the money, would rather have fighter torso, that just takes a few hours of work, and rather have d skirt, same def bonus as legs and ALOT cheaper.
   
  - Robin Hat - not worth it, only ! range attack better than archer helm right?
   
  - Robin Boots - worth it, best range bonus is game for boots
   
  - 70 Prayer - worth it, all prayer are a BIG advange
   
  - 99 Range - pretty cheap nowdays, id say worth it
   
  - 94 Mage - gotta love ice barrage doin big damage + freezing your enemy for 20 seconds (???), deffendly worth it

- Full Torag [Excellent defense, worth it]

 

- Full Dharok [Good off-hand set to use now and then while training]

 

- Full Verac [unless big monster hunting, nope]

 

- Full Ahrim [Not good for pking, and, most mage I do is safespot, and besides, mystic is cheaper]

 

- Whip [bEST melee weapon in the game IMO]

 

- Full Karil [Cant even wear ]

 

- Dragon Boots [Good, but, does +1 str bonus matter over rune boots, and they are a fraction of the cost?]

 

- Berserker Ring [Again, all that money for a little bonus?]

 

- Warrior Ring [Above]

 

- Infinity Boots [Nice to have, but, not worth it]

 

- Fury [if your meleeing, str ammy gives better bonuses, otherwise, 4M for just +2 more in everything? I dont think so]

 

- D Chain, Legs [Overpriced, and worse then cheaper armor]

 

- Robin Hat [both of these arnt really worth the little bonuses they give]

 

- Robin Boots [Above]

 

- 70 Prayer [Nice to have, but unless PKing, its what, a minute or so of higher hits?]

 

- 99 Range [i wouldnt get it, but, its nice to have]

Godsword [imo sara > bandos > other 2. If I was rich I'd buy the sara sword if I wasn't that rich I'd get bandos but I wouldn't waste my time on the other 2]

 

Full Bandos [almost as good as barrow defense wise plus str bonus I'm thinking yes]

 

3a [i'd sell and buy other stuff tbh]

 

Torag [Good defence and cheap, yes]

 

Dharok [D scim > Dharok]

 

Verac [great for pvp and boss monsters]

 

Ahrim [go for inf if you have cash but good for pking but waste if you're safespotting a monster]

 

Whip [best 1h wep and better for all around pvm]

 

Karil [waste of money imo]

 

dragon boots [YES!! they're only x2 rune boots and almost twice as good]

 

zerker boots [if it helps my max then yes but if not no... might as well wear a RoW or RoL]

 

warrior ring [never tried but it can't help that much :-k ]

 

infinity boots [great for mage, best mage boots and look sweet]

 

Fury [it's hawt and is basically a nessecity for melee]

 

D chain, legs [great, get this if you're too poor to afford bandos or 3a but rich enough to get past torag, I own this until I can get up to bandos and it's awesome]

 

Robin hat [yes]

70 pray [after 99 hunt it's my next goal piety is great]

 

99 range [nice for d bow specs and the such but not a need]

I said no guthans and I'm certianly not poor. It's just that food is cheaper and better than guthans will ever bee.

 

 

 

It's obvious that you are not a serious slayer if you don't have full guthans and have no real use for it. For a high level slayer full guthans allows us to train hours on end without having to bank for food which is saves a lot of time.

 

 

 

So this thread should really be about what you value best and what you need and use it for.

- Robin Boots(Its very good, if you can buy)

 

- 70 Prayer(Piety is a deathweapon, yes, totally worth it)

 

- 99 Range(Yes, destroys most bosses)

 

- 94 Mage (nah, barrage isn't all that good for PvM)[/hide]

All of those are a big waste of money. It's best spent in money though 70 Prayer does help big time it's basically a free super set but costs prayer points add that to super set you've got one hell of a hit and defense. All those items only speed up Combat but there are very cheap alternatives which do just as well.

- Whip - best value item, very economical and very efficient

 

- Full Karil - not useful

 

- Dragon Boots - third best value. +4 strength for 700k?

 

- Berserker Ring - not useful, ROL or ROW better

 

- Warrior Ring - not useful, ROL or ROW better

 

- Infinity Boots - somewhat useful

 

- Fury - not useful. No teleports

 

- D Chain, Legs - torags/guthans and rune take care of the defence.

 

- Robin Hat - not worth the investment

 

- Robin Boots - not worth the investment

 

- 70 Prayer - only useful in pvp and monster hunting

 

- 99 Range - not too useful

 

- 94 Mage - teleports are useful, but modern mage teles end around 60

 

 

 

 

 

For those of you saying the Robin Hat/Boots provide +8 range, while they do give that bonus, they only give +1 or +2 compared to a much cheaper alternative.
