False. There is no Known way to make pick axes out of bars. I guess Jagex hasn't incorporated smithing pickaxes into the game, yet...

Well one reason may be that there is no hatchet shops, which means we can make wc axes, but there is a pickaxe shop (in dwarven mine) so we can't smith it. Its been like this forever, and I highly doubt they will make pickaxes smithable again.

But it only goes up to mith. IMO, its a very small money drain.

I think that there should be a dwarf miniquest, like the barb training, that allows you to smith pickaxe heads, and at a certain fletching level you can fletch pickaxe handles out of some new tree log made specifically for the pickaxe handles.

First, couldn't that special tree log be a ordinary log? :anxious:

Secondly, fletching is made for making bows, arrows, and everything which is for RANGED... -.-

Ok follow me with this..

It may be something to do with the alching amount.

Pickaxes alch for about 18k, so that means if you need one rune bar (14k) to make it, you will get alot of profit. If they make it two rune bars, people will rant about how the axe only needs one bar. So if they change the alching amount, theyll have to change the price at the shops, making people rant about how cheap it will be.

Again? Were they smithed in RSC? Idk why they don't but it would definitely change the prices of each pickaxe considering the prices for the various metals assuming that like all other items it would take the same number of bars for each pickaxe. If it was 1 bar rune picks would make a HUGE drop. 2 makes the most since but that make rune picks still better then many other rune items for the cost. 3 would make rune look correct but make the others way too expensive. Addy is 3k so 3 bars would be like a 7k loss on each pick.

Before Jagex introduced fatigue...there was only a plain pickaxe. You'd click on a rock and it would say either "You mined some .... ore" or "You failed to mine any ore"...

Then Jagex introduced hard and soft rocks...which was introduced with fatigue and beds.

Then Jagex introduced sleeping bags and also introduced different pickaxes which would mine the rock for more swings then a the lower level pickaxes.

When these pickaxes were introduced, Jagex decided to make them unsmithable..probably so runesmithers at the time wouldn't make a huge profit off of them(instead, people who could click faster did, because Jagex only had one pickaxe spawn ever 15 minutes or so...and the pickaxes that were being bought at 31k were being sold around 100-150k
