i still don't get the smelt 2 bronze bar stuff = 1, does that mean you cant just buy something and keep making it, then turning it into bars again, and again?

 

 

 

This means that you can use equipment to smelt them into bars.

 

Every 2 bronze bar equipment it will smelt into 1 bar.

Yesterday i used furnance, i think this suggestion will be not so fluent to smithing skill for sure, because to smelt in furnance something take some time and it is not so near bank (is worth to use maybye for big quantities of runite when you need in furnance just half of coal) and if after smelting man get exp just for smelted bars,in connection with equipment smelting rates he get just few bars and far not full inventory..

 

 

 

So we need to suggest this suggestion on RS forums if still undone..

The idea is terribly presented, however I do get it now. I like the idea. It is similar to the high-alch spell:

 

 

 

Start with 5 steel bars (3k)

 

Smith 1 steel plate (1k)

 

Get back 1 steel bar (600)

well if you want to think about it would anyone really want to convert it back to how many ever bars less than was put in it so I think that it would be somewhat of a useless update and I am not saying this to sound rude.

Well.

 

If you think about it, almost 75% will convert equipments back into bars.

 

End up a very useful update.

It seems to me that every time you melt down a piece of metal, you run the risk of introducing impurities and such.

 

 

 

Ergo, perhaps as an alternative to making the equipment to bars ratio painful, smelting a piece of equipment could produce degraded bars, which can be used to make equipment as usual, but yield only a small fraction of the xp you'd get from a normal bar of that variety.

 

 

 

Just a thought, because to be honest, if it's going to take me four bars worth of equipment to get a steel bar back, I'm just going to alch those drops and go back to what I was doing. :wink:

If it's going smelt out degraded bars then this game will become alot more complicated as now it's already complicated.

 

Jagex will need to think of experiance points smelted, smithed and new equipment stats.

Maybye it can be less exp per bar for equipment smelting then smelting from ores, i think is ok, mainly here about possibility to do it, because in real life is possible too, in real life people recycle a lot of materials many times, especially iron or polymerics & etc..

 

 

 

A bit offtopic, I remember one time some man said: Japanese reuse wood about 110% (is like you make from wood some furniture, later you can make paper from it and later you can recycle this paper in a bit less guality one & etc..)

 

 

 

Really nowhere people so waste things like in RS, when i see in general store thousants of any bows (u) or some platebodies or a lot of other stuff, i wondered why it happen, because this is a last stage or resource usage and i think update like refining bars from equipment will make game realistic and add more sience making at least smithing products recycle'able, i think it good because a lot of items is smithing based..

No, I said point blank that degraded bars would be used to make equipment as usual. Normal bars, degraded bars, or any combination thereof would yield the same equipment - only you'd be looking at a pittance in terms of xp for any degraded bars used.

 

 

 

You can complain that it's a bit less realistic, but between you and me, I'd prefer an update that's a little out there and actually sees use to one that is firmly tethered to reality, and serves only to collect dust. :-s

Each type of equipment will smelt back to the type with equal amount of bars but change to degraded bars.

 

 

 

Degraded bars ratio:

 

Type: Experiance points per bar smelted - experiance points per bar smithed.

 

Bronze: 1 - 2.

 

Iron: 2 - 4.

 

Steel: 3 -6.

 

Mithril: 4 - 8.

 

Adamantite: 5 - 10.

 

Runite: 6 - 12.

 

 

 

This should be good enough.
