Well before RuneScape was advertised on Miniclip the population was actually believe it or not, HAPPY. Everyone helped each other with skills, quests and other things but today life in RuneScape is quite stressful. Why? All these little 8 year olds running around saying 'N00b' and other childish comments. Do they help you when in need? NO. All they say is something along the lines of, 'Noob gtfo' and things like that.

 

 

 

Why did JaGeX advertise on Miniclip? MONEY. More people that play = more members = MORE MONEY! To be completely honest this has destroyed RuneScape. You cant go anywhere without some lower level screaming' 'Fr33 m0n3ys pl0xx!?'.

 

 

 

Think about it, how old are the players on Miniclip? 5-10. JaGeX are now being hypocrites. ÃÆÃâÃâÃ

Not just "nooby" players were intorduced into the game. More mature players alos found RuneScape via Mininclip. All mmo's expand. Jagex wants to expand and you have to make a sacrifice.

Miniclip is only PART of the problem. Just as much idiotic little kids come through other things as they do from miniclip.

Everyone needs to get over the old school nostalgia. People were just as rude then as they are now. You cant expect a company to be against expansion in favor of community, and its dumb to ask them to do that. You just have to roll with the punches.

 

 

 

Not only that, but the quality of updates has vastly improved since I started in '02. Something that would not have been possible pre-miniclip.

Dupe Day happened years before RuneScape was on Miniclip. On Runescape Classic even.

 

 

 

The community always had its share of bad apples but as an old friend put it, "the essence of humanity is the absence of blame". People couldn't take it upon themselves to try and ostracise the bad seeds so when Jagex made the move to officially advertise on a different site people began blaming Miniclip for the influx of new players as them all being bad.

 

 

 

For the record, I've joined years before that has happened so I can tell what the community was like, how small and compact people were when less than 10k players were playing at a time on the 1-6 servers and by the time the game grew the percentage of idiots grew as did the community.

 

 

 

I've grown playing Runescape as my pass-time and I wouldn't have become the patient, tolerant and hardworking person I am now. :-$

dude you act as if rsc and the early rs2 was some sort of eutopia, people were still jerks in rsc and for sure everyone didn't "help each other with everything" :roll:

Man these posts about Miniclip ruining the world are tiresome.

 

 

 

I joined RS through Miniclip, and I am far from a youngun. Those that started during the Miniclip era are not likely to be a low level anymore. Low levels nowadays join through friends or other avenues, since RS isn't very prevalent on Miniclip anymore (it's there, but no where near as in your face).

What do you expect. Jagex is a company, most companies main goals are profits, more customers means more profits. Jagex was hardly going to have a small membership rate just so they could keep their early customers happy.

 

 

 

And also i think miniclip has also brought many mature players to runescape, i myself found runescape through miniclip and i would consider myself a mature helpful player.

 

 

 

Also if you dont like the game anymore stfu and go find a game you enjoy, nobody is forcing you to play it
