I bet they dont miss having to worry about paying bills, if they'll be succesfull in life etc.

I dont think they were exatly at the poor house door back in 98

Doesn't matter, everyone has to worry about that stuff.

Jagex loves everyone exept for f2p players :D

Quite frankly you can't please everyone

You'll always have haters

Why would Jagex have an F2P Version of runescape then? Why are their F2P Moderators who Interact with Jagex Staff?

Yes, You have one thing correct though. You can't please everyone. But, somtimes complaints can lead to suggestions, and they then can lead into becoming a part of runescape.

It just realy depends.

In all honesty, I dont think they worry about it too much.

Afterall, many more players in the world of runescape can recognize the names of Andrew and Paul over names of the lesser mods (and no I dont mean they are less important, but hell they dont own the game do they?) such as the 'Mod Hulme's and etc.

Also as long as Andrew and Paul can refrain from visiting what I would think a mass majority if not all Runescape based fansites have become on the forums, then im sure its much harder for them to notice near as much whining as there really is out there.

Afterall, its human nature to whine less when there are less people to whine too. Why stand around whining Ingame with noone or next to noone near you or listening to you. When you can subscribe to or just go on your local fansite and hit up their General boards of discussion that thousands upon thousands view daily.

Rs is cheap really. I mean 20 euro's per 3 months is nothing for a game, I spend about 3 times as much on a new wii game. So that's not really something I think you can complain about.

Well a Wii game is for life while membership is for a certain period.

OnT: I think they do kinda miss the old RSC community as nowadays when they come to chat they get insulted by dimwits.

Its hard to read these suck up threads without feeling insulted for those who spend ALOT of time trying to improve the game through expression their concerns.

While also knowing there are alot of spam threads complaining about mindless things.. you make both sound like whining kids.

But I think we can all agree we hate these suck up people worshipping them even more. Those people who dont read rants properly and write complete trash. They never read beyond the title and call everyone a noob.

I would pay 50 pounds a month just to play in a server with those other ranters who would also pay 50 pounds a month to escape players who suck up to them. Alot of us spend time trying to improve the game and have to deal with these players who cant even read..

Without people ranting and stepping up we would both be working a coal mine or something in real life.

Alot of things are broken in this game and fortunatly there are alot of players that love this game to the point they choose to play while trying to make jagex listen! They want them to listen because they love the game more than those who dont rant. Those who dont rant just quit and offer nothing to the community. Sacrifice nothing.

Everyone else who rants is just a moron. Try reading the valid rants and you see people with double your intelligence and love for the game.

Ever sit around thinking """ man I miss the good old days, when the players loved us and appreciated what we made"""

You mean' While sitting on the toilet using 100 pound notes as toilet paper. """ man I miss the good old days, when the players loved us and appreciated what we made"""

 Not that I blame them. They must laugh at those who cant think for themselves and believe every word they say. \'

+1

People who believe Jagex is doing a good job are naive. Just look at the two veterans IN THIS COMMUNITY who were recently perm-banned based off bull**** evidence. Just look at all the many, many people who cry for certain things to be fixed month after month, but Jagex decides it is more prudent to throw out a half-baked quest here and there and update the graphics on chickens. Yes, Jagex does try with updates like the Shop Update, but there is so much more they could do better, provided they were actually willing to sacrifice some of their immense profits. The things they do wrong vastly outweigh the things they do right.

At the end of the day, the Gowers are rich. That is all that matters.

Believe me when I say there is much more to life than being rich.

I think they will probably miss the closeness with the community, as Jagex is now a massive company they need to be more distant.

Jagex probably misses the tighter, better community of RSC before people started abusing the game with Macro programs. But they also probably love RS2 because of its great success, I mean come on... wouldn't you love something that made you rich?

I personally wish we could combine RS2's game content with RSC's community... would be an awsome game then.

The RSC community was just as nasty, if not more. The rules have just been tightened. And the number of players has increased tenfold.

I agree with you to a point, I think the community was 1000x better in 98 99, The rivalries tended to be deeper and more personal. I think some of those rivalries were very nasty, but there was more respect even for a enemy. I hated LKJ but I respected her ability, even if she never did manage to kill me :)

LOL I am hardly a suck up, Over the many years I made some post that a few remember that would eliminate me from ever being defined a suck up.

I am guessing, you were NOT around in the old days when Paul would log on and PK or right after dueling was introduced and he stood in Lumbridge welcoming all challengers for several hours.

But fret not little one I forgive your ignorance go forth and know that you have gained some knowledge, now if you only had the wisdom to use it :)

The "whiny community" syndrome exists in every game which can be played for an indefinite time for free. This is even worse in F2P first-person-shooter games that offer subscriptions... The communities get so full of immature brats and cheaters everyone just quits the game.

Kids will whine because "membership costs". They don't realize that in the real world $5 is in most countries just about toilet paper. It's practically nothing, like the first post said, you spend more than that on water every month

Sure there are lots of 'griefers', scammers, and other trash in 100% P2P games too such as WoW, but in general the community is much more mature.

And as you move up FPS games.. You'll see 100% commercial games like CS:Source will have very professional attitude communities compared to free games, because you have to PAY $19.95 to buy the game and play on authorized servers. :)

Jagex decides it is more prudent to throw out a half-baked quest here and there and update the graphics on chickens.

This is one of the biggest reasons why I personally quit playing RS over 4 years ago. RS was quite cool from 2001-2003, but after that, they didn't want to make it a challenging game such as "Diablo" etc...

They started catering way too much to the kiddy audience and those who want everything handed to them sliced on a silver plate. They totally neglected high level players who were actually devoted, for years. Only in about 2006 did Jagex start making some high-level-only updates...

Whatever happened to the "random dungeon generator" Jagex promised in 2003? :? Would've certainly made the game more challenging and fun to play, be it alone or with clans.

Nonetheless RS remains quite a good game for being totally free. You can also play it from any web browser with Java...
