Which do you think would come first? I started ranging black dragons when I was 78, I got 80 yesterday. I sort of made a self bet to see which would happen first, getting 99 range or getting a vissage. Personaly, I think ill end up getting 99 range before I get it.

 

 

 

Those of you who had it as drops how long did it take you?

 

Is anyone else trying to get one now?

You'd get the visage before unless, you were incredibly unlucky. Help and advice next time :)

Well, my character has worst luck in runescape and I mean it.

 

 

 

In 7 years playing my best drop is loop half key.

 

 

 

Best thing I got from clue was rune long (lvl 3 clues, including multiple ones from black dragons since i started ranging)

 

 

 

So I wouldnt be surprised of i get 19 ranging lvls before I get the vissage. I just hope I have the patience to keep going and enough diamonds to keep making my diamond bolts (e) :)

Well i guess thats what you get for having 4 party sets :lol: . You don't need the extra money :P.

 

 

 

But gl on getting a visage...i don't have much luck myself with drops either...not even barrows if you look at my log...thats over a good 200-300 runs.

Yea I guess lol, I refuse to buy the vissage I am compelled to finally have a good drop and I bet ill get 99 range before it happens lol!

I bet you'll get the visage first. I mean you're only 80 range, that's only 2/13 of the exp needed for 99. I couldn't imagine killing that many thousands of those dragons without getting a visage.

 

 

 

Mind you I have killed well over 1k metals without a d legs/skirt much less a visage.

I went from 62 to half way to 64 prayer, from 75 to almost 77 hp, and 78 to 80 range on those dragons.

 

 

 

There is no telling how long it will take, but I dont intend to give up, im just wondering which will happen first, 99 range or vissage drop.

you will surely get visage, pure lcuk is needed, but 1g of it will work

I am 99% certain you will get a visage between 80 and 99 range, if you train on black dragons the whole time. Who knows, you may even get a few. :

 

 

 

The reason your best drop from a monster is a key half would probably be that your combat stats aren't in the range where you could have killed many monsters with decent drops, before reaching them. If you trained on fire giants from say.. 80-90 strength, I am sure you would have multiple rune item drops, and key halves. You'll see the difference going from 80-99 range. As for the clue rewards, well, that is just unlucky.. :roll:

I got to 78 range on blue dragons

 

I got to 87 magic using high alchemy and 1000's of death and blood on all sorts of mobs.

 

I got my str att and def on dragons also, using prayer protect to melee.

 

 

 

Trust me, I killed a lot of mobs that can have good drops.

Yea I wear a ring of wealth, but to be honest it dont seem to help any - who knows, lol.

If you can last at Black Drags til 99 range, the well done! You will get multiple drops worth more than a loop, rune legs/kite/chain etc not to mention dmeds, left half and visage.

 

 

 

The problem with black drags is that they are very slow range experience at your level. Maybe switch to fire giants til 90 range, then you will much better success with the blackies :)

I am using zammy dhide with ranger, robin, ava's accumilator, diamond bolts (e) and range pots. Trust me, they die fast :)

Its probably going to be Visage ~ if ur lucky ~ Because the average drop ratio for the Visage is ABOUT 1 : 8400. Ur probably going to need more than that amount of kills to get to 99. :-w

I used to have one (merchant clan) before I quit, about 20-30 merchants and we all worked together was fun times back then :)

Well, spent day 8 at dragons, results:

 

 

 

 

 

Got 77 hp

 

Got 72 defence

 

Used up 1000 diamond bolts (e)

 

Got half key teeth drop

 

 

 

Ofcourse, still no vissage, pretty close to 81 now lol.

Another day (about 8 hours) spent at dragons, no reward at all :(

 

Regardless of getting vissage or not, at this point i strongly belive that black dragons are actualy really bad to kill, consideirng how many ive killed without getting anythig remotely decent.

Black dragons give d bones and blk d hide. Otherwise garbage for some reason. Greens have better drop rates!

13 days spent there still no drop!

You're banking the hides and bones right?

 

 

 

All the hides and bones from 80-99 Range will be worht twice as much as a Visage.

With 3 times as much of the time needed to bank them all. Since you will be banking every 10-12th drag instead of 20+ if just keeping the hides.

 

 

 

Plus if your under 80 agil while using tav its a hell of alot longer.

 

or

 

If your using the evil chicken lair, then you will spend even more time getting enough raw chickens to enter.

 

 

 

I say just keep up with keeping hides. I dunno if thats what you do, but it's what I do and it pays for even my diamond (e) bolts.
