DS games for girls

Featured Replies

I've gotta get two for the missus - what decent games are there on DS for girls? I'm not on about barbie horse caring games and that, something she'll actually appreciate and play properly. She's into fun games, but something that won't let her lose interest after an hour of playing and it be doomed to the closet forever. Only 2 games she has atm are Brain Training and Pokemon Diamond.

Was thinking Mario Party for one?

That's the problem, don't look for games branded at a "specific" audience based on gender or age (discounting the age 3 drawing games which MAY become a little boring). Girls can find RPG's and fun games just as much fun as guys, just maybe less of the FPS shooting whatnot (though some might like those too)

Legend of Zelda - Phantom Hourglass, Mario Party, The Simpsons... A few good games for the DS. If you absolutely want to go for the "girly" variety (a mistake I tell you, most of these games are really naÃÆÃâÃâïve and childish), check out Imagine Pet Vet, Nintendogs - Chihuahua & Friends, Cooking Mama or Strawberry Shortcake 2 ( <.< )

Hope you got the point by just barely looking at the names/screenshots of those games.

I think games that girls might like don't have to be centered around a girly theme, bombed with flowers and pink, but rather be a game that plays out situations that can be fun for both genders. :)

Some good games on the DS that can be enjoyed by girls:

Nintendogs - You gotta get this one for her

Animal Crossing: The Wild World - awesome game as well, never ends, always stuff to do

Super Mario Bros.

Mario Kart - must have ;)

Cooking Mama

Trauma Center

Zelda Phantom Hourglass - Incredible gameplay

Tetris DS

Super Mario 64

I couldn't be bothered with listing the mylittlePoniez and Bratz garbage, these are games that are all very fun and well made.

The ones highlighted are the games I recommend you buying the most.

Read reviews for them on:

Yeah, been thinking about Animal Crossing, looks good. Not gonna bother with Nintendogs though, her sister has it and i think she's said she doesnt want it in the past.

Thing is aswell to be honest I want games I can play with her or when she's done with them

Cheers for your recommendations so far, gonna have a proper look in the shops tomorrow, thanks so far (:

Games aren't made for either boys and girls. Get any game that you think she'll like.

Ah, this reminds me about the noob on the Runescape forums who was upset with the quest "Cold War" because apparently his grandparents died in the war. :wall:

so your telling me that this isnt specifically made for girls?

just give her a game you think that YOU'D enjoy that doesnt mean take something you know she'll hate so you can play it but get her something that looks fun (mario party and mario kart should suffice)

Animal Crossing, I would highly suggest this. Great game :)

Mario Party is great fun, but won't last forever.

Mario Kart is the best game on the DS imo, and is worth getting.

Also, Animal Crossing is a great game for girls (and boys!), but it's one of those rare games that a lot of girls actually enjoy playing :anxious:

Nintendogs or if she doesnt like dogs the Nintendcats
