Range Training Help (F2P)

Featured Replies

I would really like to get my range 70+ for when i get members again

my ranged is 61 currently and I haven't started training yet and I am not sure where to start. So this is what i am struggling with

Where Should I train?

What Arrows Should I use?

p.s. i am willing to sacrifice cost for quicker xp but i would like to explore the options

hope you guys can help :)

Personally i would reccomend training on minotaurs in the Stronghold of Security, since you can train on them forever with their arrow drops. If you want cash drops i would recomend either the Lesser Demons or Moss giants on crador (using safe spots). And to speed up training dont pick up your arrows (even tho its can give significant amounts of exp).

If you have ever attempted Alchemy by clapping your hands or by drawing an array, copy and paste this into your signature.

"Long live the sun, may the darkness be hidden."

Buy a few thousand iron arrows and head to minotaurs in the SoS with your best range gear. Go to the room with the fence in the middle and jsut range away usign that as a safe spot. The arrows the mintaurs drop should be more than enough to make up for the ones you use.

Well, you could always use addy arrows. :)

K no but really... Furthest i'd use for training are steel, if money matters, use bronze. Bronze and iron you wouldn't need or bother to pick up, however. I find the two generally the same (bronze and iron).

Ummmm, SoS (Stronghold Of Security) is always a good place to train in F2P.

is there that much difference of xp per hour from f2p compared to p2p at my lvl?

I found that at my level like 40ish ranging, I would break even training at Lessers with mithril arrows (like I would spend 8-10k in arrows and then get a rune med, then about 8-10k more in arrows, then med, etc)

So, that might be a good option if you want stronger opponents...

However, I only trained there because my friend was meleeing the lessers nearby and we wanted to talk/be with each other.

For regular training, I would go to the SoS and fight the higher level Minotaurs (there is one good safe spot with one of those sitting skeletons)

or fight the higher leveled ghosts (once they become non agressive, it's really easy)

SoS = the win

Hobgoblins at crafting guild with bronze arrows.

I would say moss giants on crandor until 70 at which point lessers is ideal.

[spoiler=Stats:]Updated December 22, 2011:

Total level - 1442 - 170M+ XP , Combat level - 115

Combat skills: Attack - 90, Defence - 99 (24.45m+ XP), Strength - 90, Constitution - 99 (16.42M+ XP) Ranged - 99 (13.32M+ XP), Prayer - 60, Magic - 99 (13.25M+ XP)

Non-Combat skills: Cooking - 99 (13.80M+ XP), Woodcutting - 99 (31.95M+ XP), Fishing - 90, Firemaking - 99 (24.82M+), Crafting - 90, Smithing - 90, Mining - 85, Runecrafting - 60, Dungeoneering - 85

If you don't care about cost, then power train at hobgoblins (crafting guild) w/ bronze/iron arrows. Idk about the xp rates though. And if you get a little low on cash, then you can always tele grab the limps/nats/laws that they drop.

Proud to have achieved 97 cooking F2P

I always train at crafting guild hobogobos, they have 29 hp i think. And drop dead very fast and you can hog them all and be a relentless jerk. No one will complain because they know they would do the same. Good money tele grabbing nats laws n limps like CowsEat and Yohbilleh said.

If you have a BIG money issue and dont want to spend much buy bronze bolts for 3 ea and use em on hobgobs at craft guild, i got from 38 to 40 range in 30 mins and if you use a Shortbow and Bronze arrows i guess Hobs is the BEST (normaly not crowded either)
