Does anyone here snowboard? I started last year, and here's my setup:

Board: K2 A-Star Wide(Got it pretty cheap, only $250 CAD  )

Bindings: Burton Custom(These were a huge hole in my pocket)

Boots: Burton Freestyle(These were also a huge hole in my pocket)

I agree. :?

I've got Flow bindings, the kind you snap on. Very nice if you're just a casual boarder. My board & boots are hand-me-downs, a couple years old, but they fit and work well so I don't really care much about the brand name. :)

I've been boarding for a few years now. Great sport.

Yay, another Minnesotan! I'm thinking of starting snowboarding this year, the conditions are far from right though. We have a layer of slush over a layer of bumpy ice, which makes biking a horrible experience. (BTW, I don't live in Minnesota)

I've never actually snowboarded, although I've skateboarded for a couple years now. I'm really bad at skating, so I don't know how I'd do at snowboarding. The closest I've come to snowboarding is trying to ride this plastic snow-skate thing that my mom bought for a couple dollars somewhere.

From what I hear, they are completely different things. There are some people can skate and board, skate and not board, and not skate and board. Completely different.

I didn't find it incredibly different to skateboarding. (I've done both before).

The only thing is is that you don't really have any 'grip' on the ground like you do in skateboarding.

I'd love to get into more snowboarding, but I've never really lived anywhere (other than Germany for 2 years) that would be good for it. When I did snowboard one time though near Germany I enjoyed it a lot.

^ You lived in Germany for two years? Sweet! What for?

Dad is in the military.

Oh. Okay. Why would he go to Germany again? :?

But Germany must be an awesome place to live in. I've heard that the buildings are too block-like and boring, but I bet the place is beautiful.

There are U.S bases in Germany, he got located to there. Since he is in the army we moved around a lot (every 2-5 years), Germany just happened to be one of the locations.

And yeah, its a beautiful area.
