December 3, 200718 yr Me: "Hey mom and dad, would you mind coming to the movies with me?" Mom: "Awww, we haven't seen a movie with you since you were little. We'd love to come" Me: "Well you don't actually have to see it with me" Dad: "Well what do you mean son?" Me: "Well it's just that Cyborg HornDogs from Hell Part 5 is rated PG-25 and I'm only 20, a college student that can buy alcohol, drive a car, and go to war for his country but apparently this movie is just too hardcore for most people my age and I need you guys to tell the guy at the Ticket Booth that I'm allowed to see it anyway." /end rant Source The problem with the gene pool is that there's no lifeguard.
December 3, 200718 yr Sounds like government censorship to keep young people from getting any ideas. Pixel sigs by me.Pixel Art
December 3, 200718 yr Although a certificate of 25 may be taking things too far, I'm in agreement that certificates do require adjustment. I mean, I can't believe Beowulf was rated 12. No 12 year old should see that movie. That's just one example. Images and scenes from movies DO influence us all. Usually it's in a good way, but there are those of us who are inspired to do nasty stuff.
December 3, 200718 yr I have a good friend who is 24 and has a kid, and a wife. He's also served in the Marines (and had serious back pains for more than a year), pays his mortage and car payments... But the government would have balls to tell him he can't go and see "Saw 5" (hypothetical future film) because he's underage?  (I just can't express how stupid the idea is) Way to encourage the thais to online movie piracy...
December 3, 200718 yr Way to encourage the thais to online movie piracy...It's already happening, this is just a way to fortify it :P
December 3, 200718 yr Is this only in Tailand? (has nothing to do with anything...just thought I'd ask) I definitely agree that this is going to far. What happens if other countries(U.S., England, ect.) try to impose this kind of thing on people aswell. Can you spell "riots"? :P Listen to the mighty words of Bloodredsword. Tip it MGC Xbox live leader board!
December 3, 200718 yr Wow. This makes me REALLY want to see Cyber HornDogs from Hell Part 5!!!! I don't run races to see who's the fastest, I run to see who has the most guts. -PreCurrently the best beat out there:Minuit jacuzzi (DatA Remix) - TEPR
December 3, 200718 yr Wow. This makes me REALLY want to see Cyber HornDogs from Hell Part 5!!!! I don't think its actually a movie  Try googling it...I got some pretty R rated(hehe) website links  Listen to the mighty words of Bloodredsword. Tip it MGC Xbox live leader board!
December 3, 200718 yr Because that 7 years between being an adult and an adult with a mortgage makes all the difference. "Da mihi castitatem et continentam, sed noli modo"
December 4, 200718 yr I'm going to guess this is more or less for movies with a lot of nudity aka pron.. Psh, the internet has more than enough of that. I'd rather see that alone on my computer than in a movie theater with a bunch of other dudes.. Internet Marketing For Newbies
December 4, 200718 yr Yeah, BlueLancer pretty much sums up my views on that. I don't know what more we can do, though. Protest?

I even think the drinking age of 21 for some countries is pathetic.
December 4, 200718 yr Wow, that's pretty bad... The Culture Ministry is also calling for an X rating, under which films would be banned outright, and their distribution outside the Kingdom would be prohibited. Films falling in this category would be ones that, in the view of the proposed Film and Video Board, "impact sovereignty, religion, and the monarchy." :ohnoes:
December 4, 200718 yr Methinks these movies won't be very successful. :-w ^Sir Jem 05-The Bunny Drinking Blog?^ Click it!
December 4, 200718 yr What? First I needed to get a Over 18 card faked to get into movies, and now I need a Over 25 one? I don't think I'll be able to pull that off. Anyways, what kind of movies are these ratings for, ultraporn? sleep like dead men wake up like dead men

Anyways, what kind of movies are these ratings for, ultraporn? Nah, usually never. Try 'ultraviolence', 'ultragore' or films which make an extremely strong and valid point against dictatorship/tyranny/protocols. I guess it's easy to make PG-25, and next thing you know, PG-35 when you are a conservative 62-year old thai politician who's only ever seen idyllic comedies and propaganda films... Exactly the reason why most countries need more younger politicians... While the politicians get their paycheck raised every 6 months, get unlimited benefits, start new pension funds... Who's controlling them? Who's placing a PG-70 on overdrawing of public funds?

Go figure. :-k The problem with the gene pool is that there's no lifeguard.
