So I was thinking. One of the biggest ouches of this whole new update was that come January, we can no longer give our good old buddies gifts. Or if you were retiring. Basically, those nice phats and things you might plan on giving away when you quit will now either go into a box and be dropped for the masses (party room) or just rot forever on your character. Which isn't cool. Or say a friend gets hacked and you want to give them 100k or so to help them get back on their feet. With this new update, that no longer seems possible.

 

 

 

BUT!

 

 

 

What if...

 

 

 

Suppose you were able to give gifts to someone who's been on your friend's list for at least SIX MONTHS? This way the RWT dudes won't be in business (who wants to wait 6 months, right? I think nobody, maybe?), but your real true old school friends will still be able to shower you (and vice versa) with gifts.

 

 

 

So anyways, it sounds pretty good to me.

Basically, in summary: 6 months+ friends = free trade?

That is a great idea. Several other people have thought of it (great minds think alike!) and I see no problem with it.

What about X number of months TOTAL on your friend's list.. naa' mean?

Too bad Jagex doesn't currently keep a running total of how long friends have been on your list. They would have to start it the day of the next update, and it would take at least 6 months to kick in.

If they made the rule effective for all current "friends," I doubt any RWTers would be prepared for that.

 

 

 

It's a good idea, but it doesn't really stop multiple-account trading.
