Lionheart_0
Alright, it has been probably 2 years since I have posted on general's boards (Some of you may know me from OT). Well anyways, I've always kept up to date on RS news, and have recently started playing again. Thing is, I don't understand what everyone is mad about? Personally, I'll take a line from McDonald's and say "I'm loving it!" Of course it is somewhat of a pity that PKing is somewhat ruined, but other then that, I only see good in these updates. Please explain to me why you are all upset about this. Sig by IkuraiYour Guide to Posting! Behave or I will send my Moose mounted Beaver launchers at you! Lionheart_0
Yes, I've read the trade nerf, And I know what it all means. How is bad? Jagex is doing nothing more then stopping RWT as well as helping to create a more stable economy (Which I have been waiting years for it to do). As for the idea of gifts, if people want to fight it enough, I'm sure there are people who have come up with good ideas to keep RWT to a low but still trade 'free' items. As far as I see it though, When I started playing this game a long time ago, I had no friends on here, I did not beg or ask for items or money. I worked my way up. Hence what today's generation of RS players should be doing. Edit: Another reason for I like the update, is that I hope it stops or slows down the exchange of these so called 'rare' items. Easter eggs, party hats/crackers, ect. For years I hated these items. Not because I couldn't afford them (oh no, that would be simply jealousy), but because they create an unstable economy where objects that are nothing more then materialistic items are traded and monopolized in order to sway the amount of money int he world. DarkDude
Monster hunting is dead, and is one of the things I enjoy doing most in the game. You can not share loot you get from boss monsters and the lootshare system doesn't work, thus no one will kill boss monsters because you'll average a "drop" every 4 trips or so, instead of a share of one every trip, and even then your drop will probably end up being crap. tryto
1. Bounty hunter is glitched and is a poor substitute for pking. It is basically a bunch of 1-iteming clans. 2.Revenents are over and under powered at the same time(easy to avoid, so the dont affect us muhc, and are incredibly hard to kill;also, they drop basically nothing. 3. Before, if you didn't like the ge prices, you could trade normally. Now, you cannot at January 1st. 4. Ge prices are slow-adjusting and sometimes inaccurate;what happens for new items? 5. You cannot now buy stuff at high prices to get it quickly, ie. Treasure Trail stuff like blue d'hide chaps. 6.No more law/air/nat running. 7. Only a small percent of players are RWT's, why punish regular players? 8. Merchanters are basically screwed, with the 3k gain/loss in 15 mins. 9. Pker's cannot do solo pking easily, you have to fight 1-itemers in the bounty hunter. 10. Clan wars are limited to your friends list who are ranked in your chat. So, no more massive wars, like the one on Saturday. 11. Abyss is way overpowered. No pkers, and revenents are mostly in deep wild and are easy to escape. 12. Its practically impossible to lose items; angel of death keeps your items for 5 minutes. 13. All in all, this update is horrible, in my opinion, and many others. Also, i forgot monster hunting, it is dead and buried. Lootshare does not replace it; what happens when someone gets a dragon chain and other gets 10 zammy wines? Giordano
Coming from a coming-in player such as yourself Lion, it seems alright and good. But for the rest of us who are used to the old methods, aren't really acceptable for change. That lies the problem, with new players coming in so rapidly, they won't understand what was before these updates since they never experienced it. Thus they keep playing and Jagex keeps their money. jessy87
4. Ge prices are slow-adjusting and sometimes inaccurate;what happens for new items? this game is becomming like WOW in a way of a cheap rip off. i bet most the new "good" items will be rewards for minigames/quests. 5. You cannot now buy stuff at high prices to get it quickly, ie. Treasure Trail stuff like blue d'hide chaps. GE? Also, i forgot monster hunting, it is dead and buried. Lootshare does not replace it; what happens when someone gets a dragon chain and other gets 10 zammy wines? this issue is a concern.

No more gifts for friends when a special occasion happens. No more dking, kqing, gwd, unless you're happy with your friend walking with the 140m hilt while you get a longbone but meh. No more private drop parties with your close friends, but if that doesn't float your boat you can go have a 50m drop party with complete strangers/idiots that came from the corners of rs because of the horrible/annoying party room update with all the bankers yelling like kids with ADD. ETC. I don't need to continue? [blingkachi50]

sykoknight
I have to say for the most part I kind of agree with you Lionheart. I see this update as more beneficial then hurtful. BUT, also like you, I have played RS since back in the RSC days (well before the phat drop even), I worked my way up from the start and have never once begged for an item...and also like you, I really haven't played RS much in the last year or two, maby a once a month log in. I don't accept gives for fee, not matter what day of the year it is...it just ruins the earning aspect of the game for me. I despise trading, so the GE was an amazing update....not sure how accurate prices are, but I don't really care, I just buy what I need or sell what I need at whatever price it is. PKing died with RSC for me and I really haven't PKed but maby once a year since the release of RS2. I never team killed monsters, it's solo or nothing for me, never enjoyed team killing much. I've never been into staking, neither in RSC or RS2. Now I DO see some bad to this update... The abyss seems like it will be overpowered now. I know for some pkers were an annoyance, but it did help keep some balance to it. Using runners for runecrafting, or running for money is ruined. (however the 2 might offset eachother...ALOT less runes being crafted by runner, but more runes being abyss crafted) No loosing items on death because for not much money you can get a 4 minute grave stone, and even a 5 minute one for a small chunk of change. But for me, the Good is far better Almost sure elimination of RWT, jagex's goal. No more drop trading to new account to make powerful pures easily No more item scamming No more rushing a new update in the hopes of looting someones misfortune To me, this update make the focus of the game more on the actual game then trying to gain and worry about wealth. But again, I share Lionheart's view of being a rare player that started way back when....so maby thats part of where our similar view comes from?
