Ogres are my personal favorite.

 

 

 

Pretty sure that moss giants and Jogres work too.

Or you could hunt monsters that drop better items, sell those and buy your seeds.

Skeletons inside olafs cave drop melon seeds quite often. :)

you can get up to 32 watermelon seeds as a reward from the temple trekking minigame. I think its the fastest way.

The skeletons in Olaf's caves are best, Ogres rarely drop them.

Any route. I prefer medium since it's faster and your follower dies less often. However, on medium, you're less likely to get the max amount of seeds.
