SINCE REAL LIFE PICS ARE ALLOWED...

Featured Replies

...you all can get a good laugh out of me playing my first show in front of people I don't know!

Original composition. I'm the not singing guitarist. Yeah, my vibrato sucks. Yeah, that's a really boring conjunct one-string solo. Yeah, I play power chords later. Yeah, my playing sounds stupid with the palm muting since I was trying to do it quietly instead of hitting my footswitch for the crunch channel (because I was too distracted in the heat of battle xD). And yes, I mess up quite a bit.

But the faces almost redeem it ;).

I kinda thought you looked like Jack Black.

The resemblance is actually pretty uncanny.

Anyway, yeah, it is pretty sloppy at parts (the palm-muting part is a bit awkward) but on the whole I enjoyed it. Pretty good song too. Way, way better than the "bands" that used to perform at my old school, they always did some lame "smoke on the water" or "breaking the law" cover (without solos mind you). The crowd sounded like they enjoyed it as well. :P

Pretty cool. =D>

Oh and your rhythm guitarist plays with a similar posture to me. Haha. I'm a bit of a 'high pants harry' when playing guitar.

Pretty nice! I liked the solos, just like everyone else did. They were good.

You need to get people more into it though. Tap your foot when you aren't playing, but tap your heel, not your toe - it makes you look more interested the more movement people see. You're the main guy out there, along with the singer - you need to look really into it, like you're having the time of your life all the time =D

Great job, especially since it was your first time!

Being immature is a part of being mature.

Awesome song! The solo's were pretty good and the song isnt half bad either. Keep up the good work!

Haha, not a big fan of pop/soft rock (which that would probably fall under), but that's not a bad song. Without the obnoxious crowd noises, I could imagine this to be a radio version of some known song. It's very professionally performed for a group of high school/college kids.

You guys have potential, even for becoming commercial. I mean it. If you were crappy, I'd say it honestly, but you guys could probably sell albums/singles succesfully or tour places.

And yes, consider checking your DNA, you might be Jack Black's lost brother.

A tiny bit too twee-poppy for my liking, but I can still appreciate it. The instrumentation was pretty tight and it wasn't a poorly written song by any means.

Was it your first gig, or one of them? Because you guys looked a bit awkward on stage, though it was pretty gnarly when you started rocking out and headbanging. During a fair portion of the first half, you weren't really playing much, and were just standing around - I'd suggest adding a few licks every now and then, or maybe playing one chord or one note to add some variety during that first part. Aside from that though, nice work!

Ha, this was my first show, but everybody else in the band was a veteran. It was pretty tense though.

I would have been playing clean chords but our singer decided to instead so I didn't bother since he just uses his own syncopation for everything anyway.

Thanks for the complements though!

I liked it, not exactly my type of music but I thought it was really well done. Not a fan of the no head guitar hahaha, but nice playing. Maybe once I start playing for small stuff I'll start posting vids too :P . Nice song though, I'd love to hear more.

"El que no arriesga no gana"

5 stars goes to you :) . And you do look like jack b.

Reality is hundreds of times more beautiful and more interesting than delusions. Fairy tales just tend to be easier to follow than the wonderful intricacies of life.

I would also like to add that today I tried to check the bias on the tubes in my amplifier. It ended up with me taking the amp apart and balancing it precariously upon 4 pillars of books because the people who designed the damn thing are stupid, then me sweating up a storm trying to get a reading out of two pins that are ridiculously close together and right next to a HUGE capacitor. I then panic'd and turned everything off because I thought I blew a cap (turned out to be hot glue... I should know better since blown caps look nothing like hot glue) but upon putting everything back together it's all good in the hood.

I need to find a good amp service place around here... no way I'm paying 85 bucks for some dude to adjust a pot.
