December 19, 200718 yr I have tried out many different mining sites for coal. Here is what I think: Barbarion Village - not enough rocks Chasm mine - far from bank, not enough rocks Edveville - skeletons, far from bank Lumbridge west - crowded Crandor Isle - monsters, very far from bank Dwarven Mine - crowded Mining Guild - level 60 required Hobgoblins - too far from bank, monsters Steel mine - monsters Skeletons mone - monsters So, basically, where can I mine coal? ~GB5~[/color]
December 19, 200718 yr I think there are a few rocks under the grand tree. And that "truck" coal mine is pretty large and you can teleport one way :) "Happines only real when shared." [hide=Stats]----------------------------------------------------------------------------[/hide]
December 19, 200718 yr Coal trucks under 60, guild over 60. December 19, 200718 yr You're obviously f2p, and unfortunetly, these are the only places to mine coal. I would mine iron till 60, then use the guild or swamp.
December 19, 200718 yr whats ur lvl, not a single thing is ranked in highscores! Goals achieved: lvl 99 Cooking, Fishing and Fletching.Surrey CC and Liverpool FC fan for life!
December 19, 200718 yr Author To clear this up, I am free. My mining is level 46, almost level 47. Smithing is 40. ~Vox~
December 19, 200718 yr For F2P, mining Iron to level 60 would probably be your best bet, then at 60, go to the Mining Guild in Dwarven Mines and mine coal there. Plenty of coal rocks in there. Under 60, mining coal will be pretty hard in F2P. The swamps are pretty far away from a bank, the Dwarven mines are packed with coal miners, so it is pretty hard to find a good spot, unless you play at off peak times. December 19, 200718 yr Ive always liked the Edgeville Dungeon, a few people use it but its rarely crowded. I dont remember what level the skeletons there are though.
December 20, 200718 yr The Guild has a lot of rocks so most people tend to favor it... as a result it's usually kinda crowded. But you're not 60 yet. I agree with Mucky, I like Edgeville because it's not too crowded usually. Lv. 22 and 25 skeletons, tho, so depends on your combat/armor.
December 20, 200718 yr You could actually just mine iron til lvl 59 and still go into the mining guild by drinking a Wiz Mind Bomb right before you go into the mines. You can get one at the pub in Fally. Thats wat i did.

The drink that increases mining and smithing level by 1 is DWARFEN STOUT, not the one you mentioned.Mine iron and bank it, so you can make steel bars with the coal you want to mine,it cuts the work a lot.
