End Summary ~ Introduction ~ Stuck on ways to level crafting and magic without losing money? Problem solved. That's right, it's possible to train magic and crafting, without any loss. I found this technique upon researching a new form of way to craft, without the need of dragon hides, ever since the recent sky-rocket in prices. Here's how to train crafting & magic completely free, if you haven't already known this technique. I am currently 99 Magic and Crafting, and have achieved them both using this method.. ~-= 2. Beforehand =-~ To take full advantage of this, you will need 55 magic & 23 crafting. It is highly recommended you do the Varrock achievement diary. The easy tasks are fine, and takes roughly 1 hour to complete. Upon completion, you can now use the Edgeville furnace, which is only 12 steps from the bank. Another possible way is to use Netiznot, if you have completed the "Fremmenik Isles" quest. ~-= 3. Magic & Craft Exp =-~ Requirements: 23 Crafting, 55 Magic. Items Needed: Bracelet, Sapphire, Gold bar Method: 1. Assuming you have bought gold bars + sapphires, withdraw a Bracelet Mould, 13 gold bars and 13 sapphires. (withdrawing 13 gold bars and 'All" sapphire is the same.) 2. Go to a furnace, use the gold bar on the furnace, and select "make all Sapphire Bracelets". 3. When completed, Bank and repeat. 4. After crafting all Bracelets, High Alch the Sapphire bracelets, which give 690gp each. (you can also sell them.) ~-= 4. Tips =-~ ~ I'm pretty sure some of you will withdraw 'X' and type in 13, and press enter. A faster way, is to withdraw 10 Gold Bars, then withdraw 3 (click on the gold bar slot 3 times.), after, select the sapphire and withdraw all. Much faster isn't it? ~ (NB: Must have done Varrock achievement diary) When you have your bank open, try and align the "Close" button, so that the "close" button is directly on top of the edgeville furnace door. ~ (NB: Must have done Varrock achievement diary) If there are more then 2 people using the furnace, switch worlds. The door does get very hectic at times, as people continously walk in and out. ~ Buy Gold bars now, as they are expected to rise in the first week on January. They are currently sold under the current Grand Exchange price on the forums (about 30gp cheaper), and would be a great idea to stock up on these. ~ If you cannot use the edgeville furnace, the nest best are (In following order): Neitiznot, Port phasmatys, Priscatoris, al kharid, falador, Ardougne, lost city, port tyras. ~-= 5. Player Tips =-~ Thanks for these other tips. N3t Frm - For easier withdrawl you could make a place holder. Then when you make bracelets you would go to bank, withdraw all gold/sapphs, deposit the braces, then withdraw the gold/sapphs. Mega Vegeta6 - You can get gems easier by wielding a glory with charges while mining, also you can get them from Managing your own kingdom. and you get a whole lot from randoms, and slayer  . ~-= 6. Facts =-~ ~Each Sapphire Bracelet gives 60 Crafting Exp. ~You can Make roughly 900 - 1000 Per hour. ~ In comparison to making green bodies and alching, making these bracelets are clearly the better option, if you usually tan your hides. (roughly 60k craft xp per hour each) For example, Green hides are 1650 each, tanning costs 20gp per hide, and natures cost 255 each. This means it takes 5,265gp to make 1 green body, which alchs for 4,680gp. Thats a loss of 585gp per body made. ~ Compared to making green bodies (including tanning), making Sapphire Bracelets are Nearly the same Exp, when using the Edgeville furnace. ~ This also works with other gems, however, expect less, or even no profit at all. ~ Sapphires are probably the easiest gem to buy, hence the sapphire bracelet making. ~ Thieving from wall safes, or mining gem rocks in shilo village are other ways to obtain gems. ~-= 7. Prices =-~ I though I'd just put this up, as a quick reminder for anyone. Sapphire - 214 Each Emerald - 429 Each Ruby - 944 Each Gold Bar - 180 Each Nature Rune - 299 Each ~-= 8. Profits & Costs =-~ ~ February 1st Making and Alching: Sapphire: 3gp LOSS Emerald: 7gp GAIN Ruby: 28gp LOSS ~ 9. End summary ~ Getting Magic Exp and Crafting exp with a little gain in profit depending on what you use, it's a great way to train magic and crafting. I thought I'd like to share this with everyone, so they can have the best out of their crafting Experience. :) ÃÆââ¬Å¡Ãâû---ÃÆââââ¬Å¡Ã¬Ãâú ÃÆââââ¬Å¡Ã¬ÃââÃÆââ¬Å¡ÃâúÃÆââââ¬Å¡Ã¬Ãââ ÃÆââ¬Â âââ‰â¢ÃÆÃâÃâîrÃÆÃâÃâémÃÆÃâÃâäkÃÆÃâÃâïÃÆÃâÃâñg ÃÆââ¬Â âââ‰â¢ÃÆÃâÃâõr LÃÆÃâÃâýÃÆââ¬Â âââ‰â¢ÃÆÃâÃâê ÃÆââââ¬Å¡Ã¬ÃââÃÆââ¬Å¡ÃâúÃÆââââ¬Å¡Ã¬Ãââ ÃÆââââ¬Å¡Ã¬Ãâù---ÃÆââ¬Å¡Ãâë 3rd person to reach 200M Fm Xp ~ Reached on 9th March 2008 Retired 4th August, 2008. Then when you make bracelets you would go to bank, withdraw all gold/sapphs, deposit the braces, then withdraw the gold/sapphs. Yes, I do know this. However I personally find it easier to deposit all, withdraw 10, then click 3 times, then all for the other material. (maybe it's just me?). This way, I don't have you move my mouse back and forth from the bank to the inventory. you can get gems easier by wielding a glory with charges while mining, also you can get them from Managing your own kingdom. and you get a whole lot from randoms, and slayer  . I personally find getting gems from wall safes faster than mining. Will add these under player tips, feel free to Pm me if you wish to remove. 3rd person to reach 200M Fm Xp ~ Reached on 9th March 2008 Retired 4th August, 2008. I mean put an item in your inventory and use it as a place holder(such as a pure ess) and then once you make a load of braces you follow these steps: 1.Withdraw all gold/saphs 2.Deposit all braces 3.Withdraw all saphs/gold. It will help you be more efficient when banking. It also reduces the amout of clicks/typing things. t0nkin
I saw this on the offical forums, such an excellent but simple way of effective training. I congratulate you on a great find and on nearly 99 Crafting. :D Too bad because of your guides around the prices have jumped so much and creating less profit, ah well. icecube
Doesn't really work anymore due to Gold Bars' minimum price being 210 in the GE. And you could have done this with Ruby Bracelets as well, as previously stated in a similar guide. http://forum.tip.it/viewtopic.php?t=722839
mujammil
Already knew about this method but didn't think it was that good till i tried it out. I bought 2k braclet supplies first went with sapp's then looked price of rubies and it was equal loss so now im making an easy 70k craft xp per hour  I know you don't profit but it's only 26k for 80k craft xp and 65k mage xp using rubies !! ~Muj~

icecube
Would it be a good idea to enchant them for more magic xp? More magic exp, but you lose cash in the process. Or you could look at the link I posted, and do Ruby Bracelets. You wouldn't lose any money enchanting those, well at least you didn't before. With GE prices, none of these methods are very cheap because of gold bar prices.

(been very busy lately.) @ everyone else G.E ruined prices. this technique isnt free anymore, however, it is still cheap, you only lose 18gp an alch (according to g.e prices.) still very cheap to level up 2 skills which cost alot of money. Sapphire bracelets are still the best option, though. (as in money loss) 3rd person to reach 200M Fm Xp ~ Reached on 9th March 2008 Retired 4th August, 2008.
