I have a topic in which i responded to a question, and no other posts have been made since. Would it be considered a double post if i bumped it?

I wouldn't bump it right away.

 

Maybe bumping is against forum-rules, but I don't think anyone would mind if there are at least a few hours between each post.

Posting again to bump up a topic is fine(just do it occasionally). I just have a question as to why you would want to bump a topic that you were answering a question for, chances are the topic creator saw your answer.

If you're the one answering the question (it's not your thread) then there is no reason to bump it, as Lord_Diddy said. The author probably saw your response, but if s/he didn't, s/he can always find the thread again by going to View Your Posts, on the front page.

In other words, it's for bringing your thread back to the top of the list in hopes for replies.

 

 

 

It can be considered spam if you do it when it's not necessary.

A good general rule of thumb is never bump your thread (if you're the original poster) until 24 hours has passed OR it is no longer on the first page.
