I got the GIMP yesterday, so I decided to make a sig. I know the render is blurry, but oh well, I quite like it.

The second one needs blending more on the right side of the render, you can see the line where the render has been cut and its quite distracting.

^ Agreed with the comment on the second one. I looove the first one though. Hmm, maybe clear up Mario's face a bit? And the blur on Mario's jacket going up to his face, I think that's unnecessary. But I love it. :)

I know about the blur and render cut off, but I tried to make both look better, and I couldn't. Thanks for the CC, anyone else?

what it looks like to me, is he brushed a background, and added filters, the glass, or ocean ripple filters

I duped the render, covered the hole sig in them, merged, guassian blur, motion blur, then set that layer to overlay.

Woops, that screwed up majorly.

I'd say that you put in way to much noise into the sigs. Not only that, but the second needs to be blended to the right, and in the Mario one, the text needs to be blended when it spins.

 

 

 

Also, I think you killed the first sig when you destroyed Mario. I don't like these, but that's my opinion. I like the backgrounds, though. They just work bad with the renders.

These are my first two sigs, give me some slack :P

They aren't bad, you did good with the bakcground, its the renders themselves that are the problem.

I know, but I couldn't do much about it. Oh well, I'll just try harder with the render next time.

New Yoshi one up for grabs.

Blending is great on the first one, I like it. Not really fond of the second one but Yoshi looks good.

You need to work on the background, they're not all about random brushes and colors with some cheap effects. The movement effect on the mario one is too fast in my opinion. Also, make the renders bigger, they should be the focal point in these types of signatures.
