I love how you misread that last sentence I put in there. As well, if they aren't going to invade the U.S., nor have the Economical power, nor can they use nuclear attacks, what else is there? If Iran actually attacked the US? well Iran quite obviously isn't going to win unless they've got some of those WMD that the middle east is so good at hiding apparently (look at Iraq - still none found!).

 

 

 

As for this whole american boat/iran water's business what the hell did America think they were playing at? Territorial waters are territorial waters meaning you need a damn good reason (i.e. better than "patrolling") to just go swanning around and then complain when the owners of the waters retaliate. Whether other countries "don't mind" is irrelevant, their waters - their rules as far as I'm concerned until the situation demands action (with, you know, actual evidence and similar stuff).

As for gas prices, the government has nothing to do with gas prices, it's all the gas company, whom the governemtn has nothing, and should have nothing, to do with. If invading Iran does anything to gas prices, it'll lower them. Anyways, if we were really so gas driven, why ahven't we invaded Kuwait, or Saudi Arabia, or drilled into the Alaskan oil reserves.

Why doesn't the USA invade Kuwait or Saudi Arabia? Look at those countries main export, then look at the main importer (USA). Got the hint?

 

 

 

Why did the USA invade Iraq? Look at the country's main export, then look at the currency they started dealing it in (Euro), and the main importers (not USA).

 

 

 

Funny enough, under Saddam Iraq exported next to no oil directly to the US and started dealing in the Euro currency, the next thing you know hellfire missiles rain on Baghdad and he gets executed for the alleged killing of 182 shia muslims in the Dujail village which happened in the 1980's.

America produces a tiny minority of the oil it consumes. It depends on oil from the Middle-East in order to keep supply high and prices low.

 

 

 

If Iran and the US went to war, you can kiss goodbye to that supply, and your prices will rocket through the roof. That in itself would have many, many other reprecussions since oil is vital for the petrochemical industry.

 

 

 

That's one a few things preventing you from actually invading Iran.

 

 

 

Attacking Iran would only create more instability in the area, and given the fragile state of Iraq's 'democracy', and of Afghanistan, that's really the last thing you want. Therefore, when put into some sort of real context, a war with Iran is the last thing you want.

Reguardless of our opinions on the subject, before Bushs term ends, if he still cannot come up with a good excuse to attack Iran, then I think he will force a attack.

 

 

 

Think about it.. We "just so happen" to be patrolling Iran's waters. Iran gets in speedboats and threatins the USA. The USA says "whoa, were not doing YOU any harm, hey America, see how evil these guys are? They are threating to blow us up for crossing into their territory without any good reason to do so!"

 

 

 

America has borders, it guards those borders, it doesn't want anyone just walking in, yet they do that to another country and say we should attack Iran for the fact that they are a terrorist nation and they threated to blow up our ships with speedboats, but HELLO, we invaded THEIR waters.

 

 

 

I think ever since 9/11 and the fact that poeple are finding out attacking Iraq was bogus to begin with, people are begining to educate themselfs more. Thus, with more education and self awareness, were not easy suckers to fool.

 

 

 

I think the only thing that will justify the American people to say "attack iran" is if a major disaster occured, yet again.
