If you actually viewed even one of those locked threads, you'd see the explanation why they were locked (or the question got answered, hence rendering the topic irrelevant)

Edit: Browse the first page of general discussion now, not even nearly 1/3 threads get locked, and definitely not 'randomly'.

 

 

 

An influx of repeating threads always happens during a big update when people can't be bothered to search a 'main' thread so they start 10 smaller ones.

 

 

 

How many threads do you see locked on off-topic? That's right, 0 right now (not counting this). Because generally, people with a bit more forum experience post here so less problems occur.
