Hey everyone! SOo...when school ends (Thank goD!) I'll be getting a job and all...and I'll also be making a comic! For pure fuuuuuunnn...except I have no idea how to maake one. I'm just drawing random characters and trying to improve when da time comes...might be pixelin over summer too come to think.

Anywayyyys I'm not sure if I should post here but I think its "media related." Ideas for plots or characters or names for the characters and ANYthing comic related would be greatly appreciated! i'll have to look more into the manga comic style i guess.

EDIT//////////-----------------------

Time period for the comic should be sword wielding, horse riding, cheese eating, feathered pens, feudalistic timesss haha not future.

Thanks nadril

hehe the kid is awsome.

Any idea on the time place you want the comic? Like, do you want it more medivil times, or like a Futeristic but still using swords type of deal? :D

if i found the time i'd be glad to try and come up with at least a basic story line, we will see what happens :)

Those are very great as always, the only one I don't like as much is the profile view of the girl - I think it's too narrow and there should be a bit more back of the head to keep it slightly more volumous (is that even a word) in the back instead of it going vertically down so close to the face. :)

Comic ideas, you could start by explaining the character's backgrounds (but always leave some mistery). What they do should be really up to the artist. :)

most comics are cartoony not detailed people... it will get very tiresome drowing te same person in different stances for every scene..

1. make characters simpler (they arte super cool now but too detailed)

2. draw everythings outline (then ink outline, then do shading in ink so it isnt lost in acanning

3. good luck on job

4. hi... im baaack muahaha and you thought yall were rid of me

THanks all. Good point about the details...I'll reconsider the outloook.

I don't know what the general story plot would be. The original hero thing? Where he goes on some kinda adventure n rescues some girl that happened to be in the middle of nowhere with a dragon? THe main character..should it be a girl or a guy?

Awesome idea princess. good luck and yes thank g0d school is soon to be over!!!

oh and can i be a character in your comic?

also if your doing the "hero saves girl" thing maybe you should change the looks of the girl to more of a princess girl or something. right now it looks like a "warrior woman" kind of person with those boots and skirt, etc.

the main character should be female... female main characters are awesome, and maybe reverse the roles.. the woman rescues the man.. but the man is reluctant to be saved... then she beats him up drags him off, and they go adventuring together....after killing the dragon of course

cool, make the the pictures simpler (saves tons of time and even basic shapes like Garfield are extremely popular), make the story plot kinda weird because the media doesn't appeal to the same-old man saves princess thing. I think they would appeal to the girl saving him (like what DESPAXES said, hehe had to give him some credit :) ), make it simple and humorous kind of like those Japanese anime's except without the anime style of drawing.

heh seems you chose fudeal times.

Well, telling on their style of dress, Its probaly Fedual japan  . I'll try and maybe think up of something, not promising anything though. Just perhaps a very basic plot, following around those 2 (main) characters. :)

If i ever had the time and paitence i could do much more of a story, and just have you comicsize (lol) it, but i'm aiming for a little basic plot.

and i'm thinking maybe make them Brother and sister. Could be interesting.

Just a word of advice: Do something original. XP The hero story isn't going to cut it.. why not try a villain story? Maybe make the main character a falcon.. or some other animal.

The more original it is, the more people will like it. :3

contrary to common post-modern notions, I don't think the meta-narative is quite dead yet....heros still work.

But I like the idea of doing a piece on an ogre. A moody introspective work, similar to the original frankenstein (by the way, in the book frankenstein went on a huge, 50 some page or so monologue, recounting a third hand event....he could do a lot more than grunt. He was fully aware of his revulting self .)

he could feel bad about looting, burning villages, the like.

Heros work, yes, but not enough to pick up readers if you're a single person working on a web-manga with -another- "fantasy-feudal-era-japan-ish" setting thats about as exausted as the WWII era is in the gaming industry. If you need to pick up readers on a low budget, you have to bring a new flavor to the table. If you want to keep the same old dish, use a different set of spices.

The real problem you're going to have is telling a story with your images. It's harder than it sounds. Especially for a person like me who constantly fights the urge to post in saturated details.
