RayOxide
What? Sludge bomb is only decent on pokemon that get stab from it. And a sweeper doesnt need any status ailment unless its burning. I dont need a siggy no moar.
RayOxide
For star. EV places I've noticed are good.. HP: The cowgirl at the bike-slide south of Solaceon town. 5 Bidoof, easy to kill - total 5 HP. Attack: Not,, very sure.. lol Defence: Wild pokemon on Iron island are good - only machoke/water pokemon have bad defensing Special attack: I like roselia collector south of veilstone, easy to kill.. 3 roselias - total 6 spA Special defence: Personally I really need help on this one too. Speed: Magikarp at "Fisherman Andrew" west of Eterna. The only fisherman facing east. 6 magikarp, 6 speed. Zangoose makes a good sweeper if in the first place is baton passed a few speed boosts, and maybe one attack boost if possible. Blissey is the all-round queen of special defence tanking, highest HP and very high special def makes her good, but fragile. Slow and weak to physical attacks, Yanmega is a great pokemon. Good with speed obviously, and special attack is quite high, but switching into stealth rock is a bad thing, so its obviously considered a starting pokemon. Err, Im hoping soma can help your defensive woes here. There's no mistaking you had a pretty decent team thought out, but all were offensive, no stallers, effecters or tanks whatsoever. Rhyperior made a great pokemon for defensive reasons, basically being an attacking tank, but he's slow and fragile to obvious surfers. Baton pass him some speed and he could top some (SOME) average speed pokemon. I do say though, Baton passing speed to a Marowak with thick club would be epic! I want to do that. How much is one stat boost btw? I dont need a siggy no moar.
Soma2035
Soma, people are told to use focus blast - that has 5% less chance of hitting than sleep powder does. Also, I dont particularly like OU's, and yea, so it may not be good in UU either, the chances are that there's no way they'll bring in an OU when im playing UU's. :|.. If they do they suck, lol. (Seriously if i get another OU reference im going to kill you. I already said Im not going to play OU's if I play UU's..) Ulti, you only know what soma told you so srsly. :P Anyway, I want a blastoise or a venusaur :( EDIT: Should get a blastoise. Pretty good pokemon last time I checked, nice defence, could be a nice defensive wall / bulky water, Surf for STAB, a few iron defences and Ice beam, and a last attack and im good to go. Im looking into an all grass team too btw, basically meaning effect-spam and healing spam :D. Looking into a complete wall. (UU WALL NOT OU), Shuckle WOULD do the favour, but since he cant learn a special-defence boosting move then he's not perfect. Best for physical wall, and dont get me started on low hp.. Encore makes me lol though. STILL trying to work out Houndooms last attack slot. Not re-breeding, I got a good nature. So I basically have.. Flamethrower, Dark pulse, nasty plot, but what next? It's really hard. If I went teams I'd probably go protect, but That wouldnt do much in the long run.. Ray, you do realize right now Crobat is permitted in UU? UU is being restructured, so no one actually plays UU seriously, since the Pokemon that are considered UU are being changed literally every other week. Next week, Froslass may be back, here to completely obliterate Roserade. The week after, maybe both are banned. Trying to make a UU team on your DS is just stupid right now unless you're hacking. At least on shoddy you can rebuild your team every week in less than 20 minutes... EDIT: Oh, and Venusaur > Blastoise. Blastoise is particularly good if you need a Rapid Spinner though. If you're playing UU, try Moltres and Blastoise on the same team maybe (Yes, Moltres is UU). Moltres has great stats but loses half his hp to stealth rock. Blastoise with Rapid Spin deals with Stealth Rock. Hitmonlee is also great, particularly with choice scarf. And LOL. As I made this post, I just checked... Froslass was dropped back to UU. Roserade is the second most used lead, first being Ambipom, but Froslass was banned for those statistics. Both leads more common than Rosey will counter Rosey pretty well. Ambipom is faster, Fake out breaks your sash, any attack takes you down. Froslass is faster and can Taunt ASAP. Finally, the balance of a game usually doesn't hang on one focus blast. However, with sleep it is a different story. If you mess up your sleep, you potentially lose a Pokemon outright. The stakes are much higher on whether your sleep hits or not, whilst with Focus Blast, it usually depends on the situation. With Subgar, you'd risk a sub... and be forced to switch. Or you'd risk a death, but only if your opponent is risking a death too. With Sleep, especially on a lead, your looking at, A) It succeeds, your opponent's lead is possibly crippled. B) It fails, you lose your lead entirely. With Focus Blast, you can control the options, and you aren't expecting to use it unless the stakes are in your favor. That is, if it works, you get at least as much as you would have lost if it didn't. Want to learn to Nex? The Nex Hunters are recruiting! Click for more information! Soma2035
Lol, you're saying people hack to get their teams now? :| wtf happened to normal gaming? nerds. No, most people play on Shoddy. It's a simulator that you just pick whatever Pokemon for whatever team you want. The problem is, they're changing the rules for UU right now, so literally, every couple weeks the rules are different for testing. Making a UU team by capturing, selecting, and raising your own Pokemon in game is nonsensical, because you don't even know if those Pokemon will be legal, or completely outperformed by a former banned Pokemon that is now legal. If you want to build a UU team, you should do it after the rules are established. I mean, why take the time to design a team, capture the Pokemon, earn the TMs, train them to 100... only to realize the rules are different from what they were when you started and your star Pokemon was kicked out? Now you get to go back, redesign the team, capture replacements for a portion of your team, earn the TMs again, train them to 100... oh sorry the rules changed again. Want to learn to Nex? Alg
Lol, you're saying people hack to get their teams now? :| wtf happened to normal gaming? nerds. Actually, if you look at a lot of hacked teams you'll see on the interweb, most are either terrible, built for people who think wonder guard = invincibility, or both. Seriously, I have nothing against game cheating (save for multiplayer), and still facepalmed at almost every single team of maxed out shiny wonderguard ubers. Which are all dragon-related, because everyone knows dragons pwn everything... :wall: #-o Then again, my teams are built on rare candies and vitamin drinks, so what can I say? I painted some stuff and put it on tumblr
RayOxide
Soma, I'm building a few teams of UU so there's an extremely high chance that I'll have 6 UU's. AND I never said I wont play OU. I said I rather UU. I do have an OU team in the making too. So if my pokemon go UU > OU I could give it a shot, however fail it may be. I dont need a siggy no moar. deathfish27
Heh, just found this thread. Anyway, yesterday I was playing Platinum while traveling, and I found a wild shiny Luxio! I managed to catch it, and it has a modest nature and the rivalry ability (not optimal...). I'll train it and use it just for the sake of using a shiny, but I'm not sure how Luxray can take advantage of these traits... I also beat the 8th gym and I'm currently heading for the elite 4, yay. The quest points in the stat pic above this message is wrong, disregard it.Yeah, everyone loves me!
RayOxide
Modest nature on Alakazam = EPIC WIN Modest nature on Luxio = EPIC FAIL. Ace, look up on google either: Serebii EV Guide or Marriland EV Guide Basically, your Alakazam has been EV'd in defence quite a bit, which is bad, in a way. My alakazam isnt modest natured, I think its calm, and its level 58 with 262 special attack I think. EDIT: I just thought about that, I dont think thats right. It's 230 something if I remember. 262 is way too high. I think that might be the HP.. of my torterra.. lol. I dont need a siggy no moar.

Orpheus
An Absol made me rage earlier. It was his last pokemon, and I had two left. His blastoise used yawn on my poke before killing it, so I used thunder wave on absol to buy some time. He manages to get off three swords dances, and I fail to wake up whatosever. I keep trying to recover, so sucker punch fails the first time. 5 turns failed to wake up >_>. And he killed off my last one too, since his was faster. [bleep]ing bull [cabbage]. RayOxide
Here's a lesson for you. LRN 2 TANK Just kidding, but if you dont have a tank on your team it would be good. Unlucky for sleeping 5 turns though. You shouldnt try to work it off, trick them by staying in one turn and swapping out the next. Absol is VERY VERY fragile. I dont need a siggy no moar.
