The drawing is a not a render...when people say render they are referring to finished work done in a 3d program such as Maya, Lightwave, or 3ds Max. Learn a word before you just go around saying it.

And I hope you didn't pay for that...

You should learn a bit more and see that a render is an image that has no BG, that is, the BG is Transparent and you can use in a sig!!. Renders can ALSO be the finished work in a 3D program as well!

Let's keep this going and I'd like to include you now ice_ring. Are you seriously trying to tell me that as soon as something doesn't have a bg, it becomes a render? Shut up noob.

ice_ring, what forums are you talking about? Just cause everyone does it doesn't make it right.

In 3d programs, what you're viewing as you make it is the unfinished product. You can work with it and modify it as you please. When you "render" it then you create the finished product with lighting, texture, and more applied. It is then finished. This isn't what applies when you are drawing something. You can constantly change and edit what you're working on. If you want to edit a render then you need to go back and open the raw file and make changes.

ok I understand what you are saying, and you are correct. But on any of these other forums thats what they are called, there is no right and wrong. who really cares what its called, its just where you first come from that will determine really what you call it.

Ryan you treat it like its a crime to call it a render or something, look in the english dictionary, there are plenty of words there that have double meanings.

I know..sorry, it just really bothers me. I don't know..I came back after a 3 month break and I'm just finding a lot of noobs and a lot of my favorite posters aren't active. I'm guess I kind of just want to make everyone else be like me so I can enjoy this place better..or something.

ok i am totaly gona ignore the fighting going on here. Basicly the sig isn't very good, even if he did draw the guy. The bg sucks, the text sucks too. The maul doesn't fit in well at all. The sig is poorly made, but yes i have seen worse.

EDIT:

not really surprised to find this:

Thats pretty bad. XP Render clouds (by themselves) just don't look good. So far as I see the only "work" you did was to cut and paste the "work" of another independant artist. I don't mind that to a certain extent, but not so much in this case as the other artist's work is the centerpiece.

Render? I was under the assumption, in Digital Art, thats what happens when you have your computer 'calculate' how something is going to be through specific scripts.. more appropriatly, in Photoshop, that translates to "filters". Which are generally to be stayed clear of. In something like Lightwave or Maya that represents the process of calculating several elements primarily concerned with the psuedo lighting-effects.

It's all subject to relativity, ofcourse.
