Ok I've been doing task after task and for some reason I keep getting the same one, Basilisks.

Now is there any reason why I keep getting the same one and not a different one?? Or is it just a luck of the draw.

Well it can depend on your slayer master, but mostly its just luck of the draw. I always burth my Basilisks because they are slow and are only good for charms.

Alright thanks, that doesnt sound like too bad of an idea, except yes they are good on charms and aslo good on nats, I prolly get a good couple hundred each time.

I always do basilisks. They are very fast, and require little to no food. Be glad you have them, rather than bronze drags over and over :)

I have had 2 repeat tasks so far. One set of trolls, and another of blue drags. Doubles seem to be quite common, more common than they should be.

They are bad for training summoning, because green charms are bad for training in general.

However, I would do them as they are a standard slayer task with standart loot.

I do think that repeat tasks are a lot more common than they need to be. I mean, my first 4 tasks from Duraedal were Black Drags. But it is reccomended to do whatever you get, if you're going for slayer points that is.

Thanks to all those who have messaged me concerning a revamp of my Range-Slayer guide. Because of you all I will start rewriting it asap.[/color]

Repeat task are getting really bad since the new quest. I had to replace my task once the quest came, Iron Dragons. Finished it and got iron dragons the next 3 times. I haven't finished the last task yet.

Well, at least we can block tasks now.

Basilisks arent that bad to do.

And i think its just the luck of the draw, unless Jagex tweaked a few things with the Smoking Kills quest.

Most slayer masters have about 20 or so tasks available, and even if you are one of the lucky ones and have not done quests to open up nasty assignemnts, there are usually at least 10 of them from each master.

The chances of getting the same task twice in a row is 1:100 (1:10 x 1:10), 3 times is 1:1000, and to the guy who had 4 tasks in a row a whopping 1:10,000.

I would suggest that most of us slayers have now had the same task twice in a row (I have had 2 lots of them) which makes for unusually higher occurances of what should be rare happenings. Me thinks its a deliberate ploy!

Don't forget that some tasks are extremely common (Abbysal demons) compared to some that are extremely rare. (Dusties)

heh wow thnx for all the help then everybody,

i guess basilisks arnt that bad, i had prolly 4 in a row and then i just got bronze drags... which are not great at all.

Murder0us.png

With the new update, it's possible to get the same task twice in a row? Huh.

I'm fairly sure that the types of tasks you recieve are based on your combat level, and the master you're using. But different masters generally give monsters that are similar.

For instance-

Chaeldar gives fast exp ones. Large amounts of fire giants, dagganoths, bloodveld, etc.

Duradel gives "fun" ones that usually have good drops. Gargoyles, Abberants, Black Demons, Abyssal Demons, etc.

Mazchna is like Chaeldar Jr., but giving weaker ones in smaller numbers. And Vannaka is like Duradel Jr. Weaker, smaller numbers, but better drops than Mazchna.

Also, your name makes me miss Ozzy and Millie. :P

if you hate the task so much just block it or cancel it...

maxed out melee on 10/10/08, current goal: 94/99 cooking

life may be unfair, but why can't it be unfair in my favor?

my fake plant died because i forgot to pretend to water it

Basilisks are good tasks.
