Im gettin the rune defender, now is it only the lvl 76 ones that drop the defenders or can both lvl of cyclops?

Both of them drop defenders, AFAIK.

It's random how long it takes to get one, personally it took longer to get the bronze defender than to get rune from bronze.

Yeah it seems once you have the first one the others come fairly steadily.

You have to talk to the lady by the door before you can obtain any of the defenders, are you sure you did that ?

 

It took me about 500 tokens to get my Rune defender.

Lol it's definitely random when they drop. I've got two rune back to back. And it definitely seems to go faster once you have them, and once you get rune you get them all the time...especially when you're tired of getting them :)

As an example, here are the amount of tokens I used getting each defender (I have no idea what compelled me to keep track).

 

 

 

100 to get Bronze

 

190 more to get Iron

 

290 more to get Steel

 

690 more to get Black (was beginning to think I did something wrong)

 

580 more to get Mithril

 

160 more to get Adamant

 

40 more to get Rune

 

 

 

2050 total tokens to get the first rune defender. I had leftover tokens, so I used another 370 to get a second. I went back a few months later with 600 tokens and got two more rune defenders. I randomly hit both the level 56's and the level 76's -- and have gotten rune from both.

 

 

 

If you are doing this, by all means get a second (at least) while you are at it, so that in case you die with your defender, you don't have to go through it again. It's also nice to have extras so that you have a placeholder in your bank.

 

 

 

I still have the bronze through adamant defenders....I should probably be able to drop them, but it was such a pain to get them that I just can't do it.

well it took me over 2.8k tokens to get to addy, used 600 after that trying for rune, didnt get one. said "f this" and didnt go back for 4 months. just today i was like "i'm GETTING a rune deff." saved up 800tokens and went in. on the very first drop i look at pile. rune def. i was like wtf i was ready to wait over an hour for one lol. it is totaly random #-o

Lol it took me over 4000 tokens to get a bronze one. After that, they come pretty fast. But to get the bronze can really be a pain in the cabbage. So keep slaying them, when you got the bronze, you will get the rune one quiet fast. But then again, that is random, so it might take you more time or less.

lmao i'm amazed at how long the defenders are taking you guys...4000 tokens for a bronze?! maybe jagex was trying to poke fun at you while monitoring you through their system =P

 

 

 

i think it only took me about 1.5-2 hours to get from nil to 3 rune defenders =[)

As someone with 25 Rune Defenders, I can tell you that they higher leveled ones seem to drop more often than the lessers. If your stats are good enough (80s), attack the higher ones, but if they're lower (70s) attack the lesser ones, as you'll last longer without food, and kill them at a faster rate. When you're higher, their own stat differences barely matter.
