June 21, 200818 yr Alright guys, I'm coming to you guys to help me out here, here's the deal. I have a very old account, we're talking back from the RSC beta days. I played on and off for years on that account until after taking a break, I came back to find it banned. I was banned for two things: "website advertising" and "encouraging others to break the rules" neither of which I ever remember doing. I appealed them before but on my final appeal was told no. Out of curiosity I logged into the account's ban appeal and found I now have a ban appeal since they updated their systems and apparently have no evidence on my previous ban. They know I was banned, but have no history of evidence for it. My account status is in the read zone and I have 10 black marks out of 10 (kinda hard egh?). My offense history has two things in it. One, an offense from 05-Jun-2006, says the type is "legacy offense", anyone know what that means? It says its appeal status is "not appealable" and under "why?" it says "no evidence". The second entry is my "last chance appeal" So, I'd like to hear advice on how I should word my appeal. I know I never did what I was banned for, but I don't expect them to believe that. It's been a long time since it happened, perhaps I could simply state how it's been a long time, I have no intention of ever breaking the rules again and simply want to enjoy the game once more?
June 21, 200818 yr first of all, be polite :D then just tell your story, what you think that could have happened or didn't happen. i don't think it's smart to tell them they're lying and they just want to ruin your gaming fun and such, they won't hesistate to ban you xd just try to solve it as an adult, and if you lose your account ..... just get another one ? June 21, 200818 yr Author How does this sound? I first found out my account was banned after coming back from a break. I didn't remember having committed the offenses nor do now. I attempted to appeal the ban, but my appeal was denied. It has been quite a while now since that happened and I am a much more mature person now. I have no intention of ever breaking any rules and would like to return and start playing runescape again on my old account. So, I ask that the ban be lifted and I be allowed to play once more. It's hard to word it quite right, because I honestly don't remember ever committing the offense (and they don't even have evidence of it) but at the same time I doubt if I just say "I didn't do it" that I'll be unbanned.
June 21, 200818 yr Author Well, from everything I've read recently it seems simply saying that you realize what you did was wrong and apologizing is the best method. So I sent this in, which was essentially taken from a guide to getting your account back and altered to fit my way of putting it a bit more: Dear Jagex, I am deeply sorry for the mistakes I have made. I love Runescape and now that my account is at risk of being lost forever I realize that my behavior was inappropriate. I promise if you give me one final chance I will not break any rules. I love playing Runescape and will never do anything that would put my account at risk ever again. Thank You I sure hope it turns out well. I've put a lot of work into that character.
June 21, 200818 yr Author It worked! To top it off, I have 1.3mil, lots of rune, and a red mask on the account still ^_^. So happy. Oh, and apparently I had yogosun as a friend back in the day O_O.

Aren't you admitting that you DID commit the crimes? For some reason, I dont think Jagex will un-ban your account even though you said that. My advice is to just tell the truth and say that you did not commit the crimes(but in a nice way). 00:00:0500:00:0400:00:0300:00:0200:00:0100:00:00 Break the Walls down!
June 21, 200818 yr my member got banned for account sharing. You think if I try something like you did I will get un-banned?
June 21, 200818 yr Author Returned3, although I didn't do it, I did sort of "admit to it". Because from everything I've read (and my experience) Jagex will almost always assume they're right (since they usually are) so your best shot is to just apologize and say you'll never do it again and that you love runescape.
June 22, 200818 yr It doesn't matter what you post, Jagex has an auto reply system. I replied with the same denied response and it got accepted though. : : [/bads]^3.14159254
June 22, 200818 yr This happened to me recently on my first account. My account got hacked and someone managed to get 10 black marks in one go :o  I appealed and got it back :) But I found I had little under 10k worth of stuff :( Congrats' on getting you account back though. My relaxation method involves a bottle of lotion, beautiful women, and partial nudity. Yes I get massages.
