I've got a buddy who wants 99 magic, he's at 91, about 200k from 92. He's been alching from 85-91, but he's looking for a faster way to hit 99 than that. He's a rune miner and he's been actually making money "alching" because he mines rune while he alchs, so he's got a decent bit of money I think, but still probably under 10m. I hear maging metals is good and you can make at least some of the money back...bursting rock lobsters is also an option, but very expensive and he doesn't really like summoning...so, any other ideas? Go play cw with ancients? - Really fun!

 

Go ancienting at zombie monkies (amazing xp but very expensive)

 

Do barrows (slow)

 

Go DK'ing (slow)..

 

 

 

 

 

Basicallyalching is the fastest way to go (that's also the main reason it's so expensive). Well only teleporting/ancients can beat alching in xp/h

Alching ain't even close to the fastest way to go. For example, you could stun, or cast humidify on a single fishbowl, or use plank-make, or string jewellery, or even faster, use ice barrage.

 

 

 

Of course, all those are pretty expensive. But alching is mostly in the middle. It's medium experience at a relatively minor loss, and if you forgo some of the exp you can easily multitask doing things like, as you mentioned, mining runite.

Stringing amulets with lunar magics (pretty fast)

How expensive are those lunar methods mentioned? I'm not very familiar with lunars, not sure I've even ever used it after the quest. :P

He hasn't done lunar diplomacy, he's not much on quests, but he's done DT of course, but if those lunar methods are fairly viable I think i can convince him to do it.

Metals are unreliable....

strininging: costs 2 astrals per ammy stringed (use a mudstaff for infinite waters and earths) (one click to string whole invent)

 

gives 83 xp per cast (=per ammy stringed)

Are you telling him to macro? That's against jagex rules, and against Tip.it rules for encouraging it.

I think he's saying its mindless, easy. Not to macro. It doesn't require any effort other than clicking.

No, Lunars are definitely faster, plus they autocast.

 

 

 

If you want to spend cash on quick exp, Lunar magic is the way to go, either with plank make (very expensive and very fast exp) or stringing jewelry (still pretty expensive, and still faster than alching by a long shot). Humidify is probably faster exp too, but that's less sit back and watch.
