My char on runescape is a girl because dont you get bored of staring at a guy all the time? Also its just a game, and i think its cheaper being a girl (skirt is cheaper than drag legs). They also look alot better with alot of stuff. The only irritating thing is all the people asking you to be their Gf's. Then you tell them youre a boy and they freek and stay quiet. Personally i think that theres nothing wrong and DONT EVER say you havent considered it.

There are two clear sides to this argument, and i can see the virtues of both. On the one hand, it's a free game(kinda) and if there are some guys/girls who want to play as the opposite sex then it's up to them.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

But on the other hand, guys who create girl accounts to beg for stuff and get wealthy "boyfriends" is wrong.

It's a videogame. You play on a character. Which rule says your character must imitate your appearance in real life? Your playing on a made up make believe character, you can do as you please. People pretending to be girls may be a little weird but not everyone is normal. Although I do play a guy character, I don't see why it would be wrong to make a woman character.

I don't see why it is wrong to play as a female character if you are a male in real life....so what if people do it?

I play as a girl sometimes. I like getting asked out. I always say "I support your choice,but sry im not a a homosexual"

Yes it is true it is a role-playing game, but i dont like how it is now "the cool thing to do" and everybody is doing it :? . I mean, now I basically assume most girls are guys in this game and it has compleatly destroyed and defeated the purpose of having a male and female characters. Being a girl to see what its like is acceptable, but going around, asking to be your boy friend is really frowned upon.

I beleive it's because theyre taking advantage of the "free makeover week". You dont have to pay to get a makeover or haircut... So why not take advantage of it, you can always change back later(FOR FREE).

secondly another reason for the increase is probably people expirimenting after the make over mage has become free (I know I definitly took advantage of the barber, I needed a haircut)

im a guy and yea my characters a girl but hey you know im staring at a comp screen for countless hours and when my chars a guy i feel sorta... not straight... also is it not cool to be a girl character do you not play tomb raider?!!?! i mean seriously not that big of a deal and you shouldnt be dating online anyways lol

I wouldn't say its morally wrong because the only reason they have an unfair advantage is because of the bigotry of men. Think about would people be more willing to be girls if girls weren't given things by guy on games. On your terms its just as morally wrong to be a guy that treats a female differently.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Besides, it adds more verity to the game. Some people do it for the same reason why people who are white play as black characters on the game, to add verity.

well i got 2 reasons.

 

 

 

First being i got a dragon skirt from drop and i cant afford legs(250k more,grr!)

 

 

 

Second, i get treated better and i have less people comeing up to me and bothering me.

 

 

 

But if neofyas will gimme dragon legs for my skirt, sure ill trade and go back to normal :P

I noticed.... it's a big difference between them now, and after doing slayer a long time, I was getting really bored, but now every time I look at the screen (even though it's usually just overhead view from ranging so far), i see something different than I've seen from... however long RS2 has been out...

Yeah, it's really freaky to see guys playing girl characters, kinda perverse too, as they try and find the skimpiest costume. :?

I reckon people do it because they're trying to scam items or want to see what it's like being a girl or they are just plain wierd.

on topic..since it was free for the week i changed to a girl....and it was a lot different...instead of "get the **** outta here u n00b rofl" everyone was polite...i kinda liked it bettter

I think that more girls in the game is a good thing. Jagex wanted them to look different, they do and that encourages more girls. Good things all around.

Like you can see in this post alone, a lot of the guys here are playing as girls. Like said, Runescape is a role playing game, but yeah, its become to far that more guys play on girl characters then girls do.

Whats really sad is not guys playing as girls, but guys who give stuff to girl characters who are really guys. Kinda creepy and scammy. And yes, I do admit weakness to girls on RS and real-life, but thats a hormone thing. IRL... not the game...sicko....
